Chapter 35 - The Retorn of the Queen

It was morning, the sky was filled with birds chanting, people were happy, even though they were preparing to war, everyone just woke up with a feeling that it was a good day to be alive, a feeling that the pack knew all too well, something stirred up their emotions, they sensed their queen was close to the Castle.

Alexa was indeed reaching the village, but before she approached any further, she turned, making her traveler companions stop, right before her, “Is anything wrong?” asked Diego, alert.

“No, we are close to the Gates of Amora Castle, and I don’t want to frightened anyone entering the village in my wolf form, running from a Lycan, who no one knows that exists, and two vampires, is best if we kept to walking until we get there!” Everyone agreed even Lucius who looked annoyed to have to travel this way since the beginning of the journey.

They keep walking side by side, in silence, only with some complaints from Lucius about the weather, the road, and even the travel companions, that no one gives a crap about. They reached the gates, where two armed men stopped the group, “Who are you? What´s your business in Amora Town and Castle?”

“Good morning Geoffrey, Valivir, how are you this morning?” Alexa spoke, pulling her hood down, so they could see her face, the guards bowed their heads immediately.

“My Queen, please forgive us for not recognizing you earlier!” Geoffrey a man of his thirty years, was the first one to speak, apologizing.

“No Geoffrey, you have nothing to apologize for, I didn’t want to be recognized, before I get to this point, and it’s so good to see how good you both are at your jobs, it makes me rest peacefully when I know such brave soldiers guard my town and my castle and all the people that live here. Thank you for your awesome job!” She complimented, making the men blushing and stuffing their chests.

“Allways here, my Queen! Only doing our jobs.”

“Thank you all the same! I’ll send Amelia here with a treat from the Royal kitchens, to reward such good performance!”

“You are too kind, my Queen!” They both bowed their heads once again.

The group crossed the gates and Lucius had a remark on his face, ready to explode, he waited until they were far enough so the guards wouldn’t hear him, “If they were my guards, they would be beheaded for stoping a royal member!”

“That’s the main reason why you are in the situation that you find yourself! I don’t use force if I don’t have to, and try to be a little more comprehensive! They didn’t recognize me with a hood on, so they only confirmed what I wanted to know, no one would be able to recognize me!” Explained Alexa. “Now Lucius, hear me with full attention! You’re in my house and my kingdom and I’ll not tolerate any disrespect towards my people or myself! So behave!”

Edwin looked between Alexa and Lucius with a smirk on his lips, he was enjoying watching his uncle be put under the light by a woman, especially if the woman was his mate.

“That’s valid to anyone!” She remarked, looking between Diego and Edwin.

“What?” Edwin asked, getting his arms up as if surrendering. “I never disrespected anyone!”

“You didn’t because I stopped you when I’ve asked you to speak to you alone, if that wasn’t the case, with your entrance in my hall you probably would cause a war right there!” She told them, peaking up the curiosity on Lucius, who picked Edwin’s arm as Alexa gave them the back.
