Edwin could not sleep, no matter how high he had climbed on the tallest tree there and seen that it was safe, without any danger around.
He still did not believe that she had entrusted to him something so powerful, with that he could control her whole kingdom. Very brave of her to trust him, since he was another mystical being, and one of the worst enemies of the werewolves.

The collar was a shiny leather, with two black stones in the center, the buckle was silver. The glow of that object almost dazzled his gaze.
Edwin put the leash inside the bag again and faced Alexa, who slept next to Jax, just after the fire she had made the night before.

During the night in the forest, it was very cold, that fire was not enough to heat them, but it was already much better than just the temperature of the environment.

He studied her, she seemed to be young in human years, maybe twenty-two or about that the same age he stopped growing and aging, as normal in the pureblood vampire line. Her hair was blond in a tone he never seen before almost white with traces of gold, as if she captures the sun rays, her face was restful her feature delicate and who saw her like this could never imagine her strength or her determination, her body was fit as of someone used to train and push to the limits of physical condition, he gets to the conclusion that she was a fine woman that could break many hearts who knew how many she already broke. Shaking his head to wash away this thought Edwin looked the other way to the forest, seeing and hearing everything to be alert all night while she slept and gathered her strength for another rough day of traveling.

Just after dawn, Edwin woke up Alexa.

- We can't waste any more time here! - He said harshly, already beginning to walk toward his destination.

The cold in the spine warned that something bad was about to happen. Edwin knew nothing, did not know what he would have to face.
He began to wonder if coming into the unknown with only a werewolf who could not control herself in her wolf form was a good idea.
He should have thought better, and analyzed the choices, bringing more people would've been the wiser. Even if they did not want a war to start.

- You got a bad feeling, too? - She asked, standing next to him.

They both stared ahead, anxious, and afraid.

- Yes.

Edwin walked away, leaving her behind, as she settled on her horse.

- You could go up and see what's around! - She said, pointing to the trees.
