Entering the clearing, and seeing the black monster of the Night Soldier laying in the ground unmoving gave Edwin some concern, would it be alive, was the question that was on his mind, with his sight he noticed the black goo that was gushing from a wound of teeth. Then he heard a whimpering, that sent shivers down his spine his vision caught sight of a massive moon white wolf lying in the ground.

His chest felt heavy, when he saw the wound on the side of the wolf, red-stained the pure white fur, and the wound looked black-ish. He came close, he had heard the howls and suspected something was wrong with Alexa, but nothing would have prepared him for this, from the stories she told, he knew what was happening, she was dying, and he couldn't accept that.

Edwin came closer to the wolf, with a plan in his head, it might no cure her, but it could help to delay her death and maybe give them time to found a solution to save her. He grabbed the collar from his bag and approach her talking to her, when his eyes meet with hers he felt her, in a way that couldn't be described, in a way he never experienced with anyone. He saw the strength and the wisdom in them, he understood what drove her, and her dreams. He understood something about himself too, even if they were enemies and even if they had been bickering for all the journey, he couldn't let her die, he couldn't believe in a world without her, even if he wouldn't ever admit to her or even himself that he felt that way.

Before putting the collar on her, he asked her to have hope he felt the tiredness in her wolf form and the struggle to keep breathing.
The collar acted fast and with a howl turning into a scream her wolf disappeared to give way to her human form, she looked at him and close her eyes.

Edwin removed the collar immediately once the human Alexa was visible. And seeing those forest brown with leaves of green it was a relief.
Now it was time to dress the wound on her right side. He lifted her shirt and saw what appeared to be a sting wound, round but bigger, almost the size of his index finger, he came up with some pieces of cloth that he ripped from one of the shirts he took for the journey, he cleaned the wound, and rip apart a shirt so to make bandages.

Once the wound was taken care of he picked up some wood and started a fire, he also tried to find some fliswood, a type of wood that could be used in tea and had healing properties for the mystical species.
And he waited for her to wake up, concern marking his face, questions troubling his mind so he couldn't rest, was it the right time to remove the collar or was it too late, and the wound would it affect the change could he have put her in more danger than what had been caused.

He listens to her breathing became stronger, her skin began taking some more color. And he knew that she was about to awaken.
