I'm here for you, always

Part 7

Cristina and Teddy's shift had finally ended, they were both very excited because they have spent the past week at the hospital staying in the on-call rooms. They get 5 days off in a row, because of how much work they have done is the past couple weeks. One thing they were both happy for was that they could go and sleep in their own beds and not have to worry about anyone trying to get in, (there have been a few times where if the door wasn't locked they would have been screwed).

Cristina had changed out of her scrubs and was walking in the parking lot towards her car, very anxious for a well-needed shower. When she was almost to her car, she saw Teddy ahead of her, so she jogged to catch up with her. Cristina was wondering about what they were going to do about the sleeping arrangements considering how they had been sleeping in the same bed together for about a week or two.

"Hey, uh- Teddy. I was wondering about what we're going to do about the our um-*sleeping arrangements*" 

She said trying to keep it at a whisper because there were other people in the parking lot

"We aren't going to do anything, right? I just assumed we would go to our own apartments and sleep there, I have been able to sleep peacefully for the past week or two."

"Oh yeah, sure. Just wanted to make sure we were on the same page." She tried to say with a smile.

Cristina's not going to lie she was a tad bit disappointed, because 1) she wanted to spend time with Teddy outside of the hospital and 2) she wanted to talk to her about the 'little' stuff.

Cristina and Teddy made their ways to their separate cars, and drove to their own apartments, to take a nice, hot shower, and sleep in their own beds.

When Cristina arrived to her apartment she jumped into the hot shower, 30 mins later when she was finished and in her pjs, she ordered some chinese takeout. When it arrived she curled up on her couch with a blanket and started watching some TV, she wouldn't say it to anyone aloud, but she really wished Teddy was cuddled up there with her.

When Teddy got home she did the same, jumped into a hot, well-deserved shower.  She wasn't very hungry, so she made a small sandwich, and grabbed her book and lied down on her couch and read for hours, finishing her book. As it was getting darker, Teddy was getting more and more excited to go to bed because she could now finally sleep without having nightmares or seeing Henry's face. 

Cristina watched a couple episodes of her show and when she looked at the time it was quarter after 11. She started to feel pretty tired, so she got off the couch wrapped herself in her blanket and got into bed. She had fallen asleep pretty quickly.

Teddy was getting tired around 11:30, so she finished the first couple chapters of her second book, and then got into her own bed. Teddy had been tossing and turning all bloody-night, she just couldn't find a comfy position, not until around quarter after 12. 

Teddy awoke screaming, crying and drenched in what she thought was sweat, she remembered her dream scaring her but not remembering why is scared her. She thought she could have done it, sleep alone without nightmares, but she couldn't. She didn't know what to do and it was still awfully dark out, and it was scaring her. So she called the one person who always gave her the comfort she wanted and needed.

*Ring**Ring**RING*

Cristina had been awoken by her house phone ringing loudly, she looked at her clock it read 2:47 AM, she had no clue who would be calling at this hour, so she let it ring, 'Probably some telemarketers or something'. She was falling back asleep when it started ringing again.

*Ring**Ring**RING*

When Cristina finally went and picked up the phone, she heard the person on the other end, but couldn't make out what they were doing or saying.

"Hello? Who is this?" Cristina's voice sounding very raspy

She heard crying and then she heard Teddy

"Cr-is-ti-na? I ne-ed y-ou" 

Teddy was breathing so fast, she was hyperventilating and crying her eyes out. Cristina's heart broke so fast, she felt bad for her, but Teddy needed her right now. She didn't have the time to just stand there and feel bad for her, she had to go get her.

"Ok, honey I will be right there, try and stay calm. Ok? I'm leaving right now" 

"O-k, pl-ea-se hur-ry"

Cristina was rushing to put real pants on, grab two hoodies of hers, and her car keys. Thank god Teddy didn't live too far from her apartment.

When Cristina got the Teddy's apartment building she was booking it up the stairs to her floor, when she got to her floor and her door, she started knocking on the door (she would have been banging, but she didn't want to scare Teddy anymore). She could hear her crying and there were no words to describe how Cristina was feeling, like someone ripped her heart out of her chest and was crushing it.

Cristina was worrying she could hear Teddy but Teddy wasn't answering the door, so she starting knocking louder. After a couple seconds Teddy finally answered the door, her eyes were all red and puffy, she was still crying, and having trouble breathing.

Cristina pushed the door open as fast as she could, she dropped everything she was holding, closed the door and she quickly ran towards Teddy, and gave her a quick peck, then picked her up and rocked her like she would always do. 

"You're ok now hunny bun, you're ok. I'm here, baby. Don't worry, I'm here." Cristina really needed her to calm down or she could hurt herself. So she kept saying these things knowing that Teddy loved being called these names.

It took awhile but Cristina had finally somewhat calmed Teddy down, she had started hiccuping. Teddy was lying her head down on Cristina's shoulder, with Cristina holding her, rocking her and the scent of vanilla really helped calm her, and it was starting to put her to sleep. 

Until Cristina had noticed how drenched Teddy was so she put her down on the couch, to go get new sheets for her bed and new clothes. 

"Just give me a second sweetheart. I gotta go get some things to make you feel better!" 

Cristina said trying to keep Teddy happy. But she didn't like this one bit, Teddy started whining, she really wanted her back and holding her, she didn't come back until she had put the sheets in the washing machine and grabbed new underwear and for Teddy. 

When Cristina returned with new underwear and a hoodie that Teddy had never seen before, she had finally realized what had happened, she wet the bed, she really thought that it was just sweat. She hadn't done that for a while since she's been sleeping with Cristina, all this made her start crying again, she just felt so embarrassed for having to call Cristina to come and help her. Cristina had picked Teddy up and brought her to the bathroom, where the tub was running, Teddy didn't know when Cristina was able to start the bath, but she didn't say anything. 

Cristina was slowly undressing Teddy and placing her in the tub, Teddy didn't want to let go of Cristina so she had no other choice than to get in with Teddy, which she was happy to do. After Cristina thought that the two of them had soaked long enough she got out and dried herself with a towel first then did the same for Teddy. She helped Teddy get dried and into her new underwear and Cristina's hoodie, Cristina wore the same.

When Cristina put new sheet on Teddy's bed she picked Teddy up was bouncing her trying to get her to go to sleep, but she just wouldn't so she got into bed with Teddy and snuggled her close, Teddy had put her head in her regular spot.

"Good night baby, sleep well" Cristina had given her a kiss goodnight and once she heard suckling, she knew that her baby had fallen asleep, so she dozed off herself.
