Much to Molly's dismay, Diagon Alley was packed full of Witches, Wizards, and other creatures. So much for getting there before it got crowded.

Hogwarts students of all ages were racing from store to store, dragging their parents behind them. It was always a mad rush to get books and supplies before the school year started, but the air seemed more frantic than usual. As Y/N began to wonder why, she heard her mother squeal.

"Oh!! Gilderoy Lockhart is doing a signing at the bookstore today! We must go and get ALL of our books signed!"

The Weasley siblings stared at their mother in shock. Was this the same woman who was scolding them not even an hour ago? It couldn't be.

Despite their disgust in seeing their mother froth over a man they had no idea about, they trotted along behind her, stepping into the bookstore.

Y/N had never seen the small space so crowded before. It was mostly middle aged women who occupied the store, lining up to get their books signed or catch a glimpse of Gilderoy Lockhart. As her over excited mother joined the queue and the rest of her siblings dispersed into the crowd, Y/N decided to stay where she was. She certainly wasn't interested in seeing Gilderoy what's-his-name, and she preferred not to get stuck in the rush of people searching for school books. She instead decided to admire the structure of the bookstore.

As her eyes travelled up the walls and onto the landing at the top of the stairs, Y/N caught a pair of eyes looking at her. They belonged to the boy with platinum blonde hair that she had been thinking about just minutes before. The universe has got to be invading her mind.

The girl's mouth parted slightly as she continued to watch Malfoy.

"WEASLEY!" He called out as he cascaded down the stairs.

"Fancy seeing you here" He smirked as he finally reached the Gryffindor girl.

"Yes, fancy seeing me here. Getting new school books. In my local wizard book store. Before the  beginning of the school year. Such a coincidence, really." Y/N teased, causing a small a smile to appear on Draco's face.

"Gotta hand it to you Y/N" He remarked,

"You're not as plain as I first assumed."

"I'm sure there are many things you incorrectly assume, Draco" She teased, it now being her turn to smirk.

Just as the boy opened his mouth to reply, he was silenced by the presence of his father's hand on his shoulder.

"What have I told you about spying, Draco" Lucius sneered as he moved his son to the left, away from Y/N.

"Ah, you. Draco had told me about you" He said as he turned to the Weasley girl.

As she turned to look back at Draco, she observed an annoyed expression on his face, clearly aimed at his father.

Y/N felt a figure walk up behind her.

"Stay away from my daughter, Malfoy" The voice belonging to her own father sneered.

Lucius turned to look at Arthur with a look of distaste.

"As long as she stays away from my son."

With those words, the older Malfoy turned around and ushered Draco out of the bookstore. Y/N remained standing, thinking about what a horrid man Lucius was. She wondered if the younger blonde would also grow up to be just as horrid. She found herself violently hoping that wouldn't be the case.
