Note: This is only a small chapter but I wanted to give this section its own part before I start writing Year 4 :)

"It's been reported by other students that Mr Malfoy and Miss Weasley have been breaking curfew to attend the Astronomy Tower"

Professors McGonagall and Snape were standing in Dumbledore's office, discussing the recent rendezvous of Y/N and Draco.

As heads of Gryffindor and Slytherin, it was up to them to decide what to do about the breaking of school rules, except they didn't have the same train of thought.

McGonagall believed they both should be punished (individually, not like their first detention), strongly maintaining that it would send a message of disapproval to the pair.

Being the head of Draco's house, Snape on the other hand, had witnessed a positive shift in the Malfoy boy's attitude since he had become accustomed to being around the Weasley girl. He also highly doubted that punishing them would keep them apart.

"So you'd say they're getting along well, then?" Dumbledore queried

"Well yes, but that's besides the point, they broke curfew more than once-"

"Minerva, two individuals from rival families are being particularly civil with each other. Isn't that an excellent thing? Their togetherness could very well break the cycle of opposition between the Weasleys and the Malfoys" The headmaster pointed out.

"But-"

"Yes, I understand they've broken school rules, but if we press further with this matter we'll have to get both families involved, and you know that won't end well. As long as they're not damaging property or other students, I think it's best not to make a fuss."

McGonagall stood wide eyed as Snape spoke up,

"Professor McGonagall and I both agree that our students being together is not exactly ideal, but I believe the best option...is to let their relationship...unfold."

If it was possible, McGonagall's eyes grew wider.

"Are you MAD?" She barked, now turning to face Snape,

"Their fathers won't like this."

"As much as I believe your words to be true Minerva, it is not up to their fathers to dictate what they do. I see no reason to keep them from each other."

"Do you want Lucius Malfoy questioning you? He won't be too pleased when he finds out-"

"Lucius Malfoy is rarely pleased with anything that goes on in this school, it wouldn't be the first time he has questioned my methods. I can handle him."

Professor Mcgonagall remained silent and in deep thought for a moment before speaking up for the last time,

"Alright, leave them be if you must, but when this all backfires I refuse to be involved."

"You won't be, Minerva. You have my word."

And with that, the case against the Malfoy and the Weasley was dismissed.
