The Yule Ball

Anticipation amongst the pupils at Hogwarts continued to grow until the night of the Yule Ball.

The Weasley sisters didn't have access to the most expensive dresses like everyone else, so Y/N took it upon herself to add a bit of DIY style to her's and Ginny's.

"Wow, Y/N! I love it! You've done an amazing job!" Ginny praised as her eyes travelled over the newly added sparkles on her dress,

"Are you sure you're not secretly a Ravenclaw?"

"Nah, I am a Weasley after all. Could you imagine the scene Mum would make if I was sorted into a different house though? Probably would've gotten a howler" Y/N cackled as Ginny joined her.

"You're a Weasley now, but you'll be a Malfoy in the future-"

"Oh shutup."

As Ginny left the dorms and headed back to the common room, Y/N pondered what her life might be like if she did end up with Draco in the future.

Sure, it was fine to be together at Hogwarts where their parents weren't completely aware of what went on within the castle walls, but what would happen once their schooling was over? Would Molly and Arthur accept Draco into their family? Would Lucius Malfoy even allow his son to marry her? Would they have to run away so they could be together? Would Draco choose her over his family? What if-

"Y/N?"

Y/N jumped at the sound of her name, jolting her out of her thoughts. She turned around to see her twin brother standing in the doorway of the dorm.

"Bloody hell Ron, one day you're going to send me into cardiac arrest if you're not careful"

Ron began to chuckle at the thought, before he realised it wasn't funny.

"Did you need something?" Y/N queried as she stared at him cautiously with suspicion.

"Ginny told me you made her dress look better, and well, my dress robes are bloody pathetic looking, so I was wondering if- if you would maybe help me?"

As much as she wanted to say no, for all the grief Ron had given her about Draco, the desperate look on his face said he wouldn't have come to her if it wasn't so important.

"Oh, alright." Y/N sighed as Ron thanked her profusely.

The girls dormitory on the afternoon of the Yule Ball could only be compared to the backstage of a circus.

It was absolute chaos.

After only completing the finishing touches on Ron's dress robes twenty minutes ago, Y/N hadn't even started getting herself ready. Whizzing around as she scrambled to do her hair and makeup, she joined the cloud of chaos.

Time practically flew by as makeup brushes, hair pins, and hairspray also flew around the room, eventually ending in the girls being dressed and ready to go.

Y/N walked through the common room with Ginny as they headed to the ball, where they were told they'd be able to meet with their partners.

The sisters were engrossed in a conversation about something stupid Fred and George had done earlier that day, before they noticed someone waiting outside, next to the portrait of the Fat Lady.

"Draco?"

The blonde turned his head towards his date, his eyes widening and his jaw dropping open slightly.

"Y/N. Hi- you look- wow."

Ginny smirked as she noticed the blush on her sister's face.

"I'll meet you down there, Y/N" She giggled before walking away from the pair.
