Whine and Dine

Ron, Harry, and Hermione were seated at the Gryffindor table when Y/N walked into the Great Hall for dinner.

"Does Y/N look suspiciously happy to anyone else?" Fred queried as he sat down next to George.

The entire Weasley family turned their heads to look in their sister's direction. There she was, making her way to the table with a content smile on her face, a change from her usual blank expression.

"Did you win a lifetime supply of Butterbeer or something?" Ron questioned the girl as she sat down.

"What? Not that I'm aware of"

"What's got you so happy then? You're usually in a sensitive mood after a long day of classes" Ginny joked as she came into the conversation.

"Oh sorry, am I not allowed to be happ-" Y/N started to reply sarcastically before Ron cut her off,

"Is this about the letter Malfoy sent you in class?"

A blush began to creep onto the girls face as she stuttered

"Um I-"

"What did he say Y/N? Did he ask you to marry him? Have his children? Run off and work for he who shall not be named?" Ron continued to pester, now practically leaning over Hermione to interrogate his sister.

"Bloody hell Ron will you calm down! You're being ridiculous"

The redhead opened his mouth to respond when a voice from the next table interrupted his train of thought.

"Y/N!"

As if they had all changed their name to Y/N, Harry, Hermione, and the entire flock of Weasley siblings turned around to face the source of the voice.

Upon seeing it was Malfoy, Ron very audibly groaned.

Noticing the Weasley siblings staring at him, Draco grimaced before focusing his attention back on Y/N.

"Did you read my note?" He grinned, raising his eyebrows at the girl.

"Yes, I did, thankyou" Y/N replied, now mimicking his grin.

"Oh back off, Malfoy" Ron barked as he turned around to the Gryffindor table again, making his sister laugh.

"What are you two up to anyway?"

"I don't think it's necessarily any of your business Ron, especially if you're going to throw a tantrum every time we talk about it." Y/N replied, growing more annoyed with her brother by the second.

"We do have ways of finding these things out you know, Y/N" George now spoke, side eyeing his twin brother, as if they were thinking the same thought.

"I welcome you to find out, then I won't have to sit through stupid conversations like this one."

After delivering her remark, Y/N turned her attention away from her brothers, and onto the food in front of her. The Gryffindor table took this as a sign that she was definitely done talking, and they left the subject alone (for now, that is. Ron certainly wasn't finished).

As the meal time came to a close, Y/N was one of the first to get up from the table and rush back to the dormitories.

"Oh what's she bloody doing now ?" Ron whined, looking defeated.

"Oh will you just drop it Ron!" Hermione barked,

"I know you're twins but you really don't need to know everything she does. Let her be the independent young woman that she is."

"So you're taking her side on this whole Malfoy fiasco, are you?"

"No I'm not taking anyone's side, I'm just saying you're not her guardian. She should be able to do what she likes."

"Yeah, Ron, let her live a little." Ginny added, sharing a grin with Hermione

Knowing better than to pursue an argument with two females, the redhead silenced himself.

"Fine, but can you at least ask her what she's doing? She'd be more likely to tell you than me" Ron bargained with his sister as she started to get up from the table.

"Oh I don't need to ask, she already tells me everything" Ginny smiled as she began walking away from her brothers, who now had the same expressions as the clowns at the carnival.

Ginny knew what her sister was going to be up to tonight, mainly because she'd decided she might need someone to cover for her if things went astray.

In the note she had been quite elegantly sent by Draco in class earlier, he'd asked her to meet him at the Astronomy Tower tonight.

Their first date.
