Up to No Good

"Have fun last night, Y/N?"

Y/N was making her way to the Great Hall for breakfast when Fred and George approached her and each slung an arm over her shoulder.

Knowing there was no possible way that her brothers knew where she really was last night, she figured they were just pulling her leg.

"What're you talking about? Is this another one of your practical jokes? You know not to do them  till I've at least had breakfast." Y/N spoke, shaking her head at the fact she was somehow related to these two.

"Not a practical joke, we're just asking a question Sis" George replied, smirking at Fred.

Y/N rolled her eyes and walked away from the pair, not knowing they knew a lot more than they were letting on.

She continued her journey to breakfast, looking forward to sitting down and eating; she was beyond hungry.

Just as she had almost made it to the Great Hall doors, she heard a faint whisper come from the shadowed hallway.

"Y/N!"

Y/N turned her head in the direction of the voice. As her eyes adjusted to the darkness of the corridor, she saw a familiar face.

"Draco?"

The Slytherin motioned for her to join him in the dimly lit corridor, and she obliged.

"What're you doing here ?" She quietly questioned as she let out a small chuckle.

"Just wanted to talk to you, away from others" Malfoy replied as he motioned his head towards the rest of the students walking into breakfast.

"What's up?" Y/N whispered, concern etched on her face as she began to overthink his words.

What if Draco had decided he didn't want to keep hanging out with her? What if he'd slept on it and come to the conclusion that being so close to a Weasley was too risky? Had other people found out about where they were last night?

"It's really not anything bad, don't worry" The boy jumped to reassure Y/N after noticing her worried expression.

"I just uh- wanted to ask if you would maybe meet me at the Astronomy tower again tonight? Only if you want to though- if you're not busy, that is- with homework and other things"

Y/N had never seen Draco stutter as much as he did when talking to her sometimes. It made his "tough boy" image feel like one big facade, and she was getting a glimpse into who he truly was. A boy who was more than capable of caring.

"Yes of course I will Draco" She beamed, feeling relieved that he still thought she was worth it.

"I'll see you there after dinner then" The boy smirked as he returned her smile, now feeling more confident.

Much like Y/N, Draco had also been worried about their arrangement. He was afraid the Gryffindor girl would have second thoughts about him after waking up that morning, and change her mind about being so close with him. His concerns were put to rest though once she had agreed to his proposal of a second date, confirming she had meant what she said in the Astronomy Tower.

The Malfoy and the Weasley walked into the Great Hall, bidding each other a small farewell as they headed to their opposing house tables.

Now that Ron was no longer hassling Y/N about her association with Malfoy, meal times went ahead quite smoothly. Although, he still sent glares towards the Slytherin whenever he caught him staring at his sister.

As breakfast came to a close and students dispersed back to their common rooms, Y/N was the first of the Weasley's to get up.

"You guys coming or what?" She asked as she stared back at her siblings.

"We'll meet you there Y/N, we're not done yet" George spoke as he quickly shoved a piece of toast in his mouth.

The girl was sure they had all finished eating at least ten minutes ago (except Ron, he doesn't ever stop), but not being one to turn down time away from her brothers, Y/N headed for the doors.

Fred looked around the Hall to make sure the coast was clear before reaching into his robe, pulling out what looked like an old piece of parchment.

"What the bloody hell's that?" Ron queried with a mouth full of toast.

"Just watch." George said as he pointed his wand at the parchment.

"I solemnly swear that I am up to no good"

As footprints moving within a map of Hogwarts appeared, Ron rose his eyebrows.

"Impressive, but what're you showing me for?" The redheaded boy spoke, now with only half a mouthful of toast.

"This map shows where everyone in the castle currently is, at any time"

Ron nodded at Fred, signalling for him to continue.

"Last night George and I thought we heard someone leave the common room, so we checked the map to see if we were correct. We saw Y/N go up to the Astronomy Tower, in the middle of the night."

Ron scrunched his eyebrows together.

"Y/N? But why would she leave the common room to go to the Astronomy Tower? That doesn't make sense" He spoke, no toast left in his mouth, now very confused.

"Well my dear brother, she wasn't up there alone. There was another set of footprints with hers"

"So who was it then?" Ron whispered as he grabbed another slice of toast, not taking his eyes off Fred and George incase he missed something.

The twins glanced at each other, as if they were deciding whether or not they should tell him.

"She was with Malfoy."

At the sound of the name, Ron dropped his piece of toast. He quickly picked it back up again.

"Malfoy? She was at the Astronomy Tower, in the middle of the night, with bloody Malfoy?"

Fred and George nodded their heads.

"But it's best not tell her we know, if she finds out about the map she might tell Mum and that'll be the beginning of World War three".

Whilst Ron agreed Y/N mustn't find out about the Marauders Map, he still wanted to talk her out of getting tangled up with Malfoy. After a minute of thinking, he was hit with an idea.

"So I get we can't just ask her about it, but what if we caught them in the act? Then she'd have no choice but to explain herself".

"Better yet" George spoke,

"We could get someone of authority to catch them."

The twins grinned at each other as Ron looked worried.

"Bloody hell you're not gonna get Filch on her are you?"

"Don't be silly, we stole this map from his office in the first place, it's too risky to get him involved." Fred spoke softly

"Then who?"

Fred and George glanced at each other before uttering the same word;

"McGonagall."
