That night, Fred, George, and Ron sat in the Gryffindor common room finalising their plan.
"So when we hear her leave, we'll check the map to make sure it's her, give her time to meet up with Malfoy, then go to McGonagall and tell her Y/N is missing. There's no way they won't get caught."
The Weasley brothers were too busy snickering to each other to notice their youngest sister approach them from behind,
"You do realise that if your stupid plan works they'll get detention together, meaning you'll be giving them a very genuine excuse to spend time together, right?"
Ron and the Twins jumped. Ginny had not only startled them, but she'd heard what they were up to.
"Bloody hell Ginny, you can't sneak up on people like that" Ron huffed as his younger sister grinned.
"I can if they're planning on sabotaging my sister"
"We're not sabotaging her, we just want her to stop hanging out with Malfoy, it's for her own good" Fred argued
"Yeah, we'd rather not have her get caught up in the whole evil-Malfoy-family business. She might get killed before Mum and Dad have a chance to kill her themselves." George added.
"You three are being ridiculous. From what she's told me, Malfoy is surprisingly sweet to her and he returns her feelings. They've done nothing wrong for you to go after them like this" Ginny protested.
"Malfoy's sweet to her?" Ron repeated as his face softened, earning a shove from Fred and George.
Clearing his throat, Ron straightened up and spoke again,
"I mean- it's not Malfoy we're worried about, it's everything that comes with him. His family are scary Ginny. You've got to admit, it's not exactly the type you'd want Y/N to marry into-"
"Who said anything about marriage? Gosh Ron. You're seriously jumping the gun here, all three of you are, actually. Regardless of what you do, I really don't see Y/N giving up on him that easily. She genuinely likes him and as much as you hate the thought of it, you're going to have to accept them being together sooner or later." Ginny huffed as she stormed away.
The three Weasley brothers sat in silence for a moment before George spoke up,
"Do you think she's going to tell Y/N what we're doing?"
"I don't know. Probably. I still think we should go through with the plan though. Imagine if McGonagall tells Malfoy's Dad when she catches them. He'll for sure make certain that his son stays away from a Weasley" Fred cackled.
And with that remark, they decided that their plan would stay in place.
Up in the dormitories, Y/N was deciding what to wear to her second date with Draco; the date that was unbeknownst to her, about to be ruined.
As the sun went down, Y/N's excitement grew. She throughly enjoyed being in Draco's presence, knowing it was completely safe to be herself around him. He'd taken her by surprise on the last date; she never would've picked him as the romantic type.
As she laid in bed waiting for complete silence throughout the common room (her cue that it was safe to leave), the Gryffindor girl wondered what Draco had planned for tonight. Were second dates supposed to be grander than the first? Or were they always more casual? Either way, she was sure she'd enjoy herself if the platinum blonde boy was also going to be attending.
As the familiar silence fell across the Gryffindor tower, Y/N repeated her escape routine from the previous night. Creeping out of bed and down the stairs, through the common room, and heading out of the portrait of the Fat Lady, who was soundly sleeping.
She made her way to the Astronomy Tower where she was met with Draco.
"Evening, Y/N" He grinned as she approached him.
"Evening, Draco" Y/N softly spoke while returning the blonde's smile.
"These are for you" Draco whispered as he moved his right arm from behind his back, revealing that he was holding a small but bright bunch of flowers.
"Oh Draco, thankyou! You really shouldn't have" The Weasley beamed as she took the flowers into her own hand. Her fingertips only brushed over Malfoy's ever so slightly, yet she felt goosebumps tingle up her arm.
"It's no trouble at all, really. I tried to get ones that were as beautiful as you, but it turns out that no such flower exists." The blonde smirked as he shrugged his shoulders.
Y/N shook her head and let out a small giggle as a blush quickly rose to her cheeks.
"Where did you even get these, anyway?" She asked, even though it definitely came out as more of a squeak.
"One of the greenhouses. I asked Longbottom if the Herbology department was growing any flowers. He said these ones were the most rare, so I picked some for you." Draco smiled.
"Who knew that a Malfoy could be so thoughtful huh?" Y/N joked as she grinned widely.
"Ha Ha Ha. You are hilarious love. Shall we?" Draco nodded to the door, holding his hand out for the girl to take, which she did without any hesitation.
Back at Gryffindor Tower, Fred and George had just woken up Ron.
"What the bloody hell do you two want? Don't know if you noticed but I'm trying to sleep here."
"We've just spotted Y/N and Malfoy on the map, we have a plan, remember dummy?" George whispered as he whacked his younger brother on the head.
"Oh, OH yes, that's right." Ron spoke to no one in particular as he hobbled out of bed.
"Are we going to go get McGonagall now?"
"No no, we'll give them a bit of time to get settled in to their surroundings so they won't be on guard." Fred yawned as the three of them headed down to the common room, where they waited until it was time to strike.
