We rode in Nick's car on the way home from the theme park. Nick was driving, I sat in the passenger seat, and Dream and George sat giggling in the backseat. They were sharing a huge bag of cotton candy and were on serious sugar highs.

"Georrrgggeeee," said Dream.

"What DrEaM?"

"Ppfftt, nothing," said Dream, who burst into laughter.

"Dreeeaaammm," said George, "tell meeee."

"It's nothing," wheezed Dream.

I smiled listening to their laughter.

"Daddy," said George, "please tell me."

This finally broke Nick and I. We bursted into loud cackles. I clutched my sides as I gasped for air. Nick nearly had to pull over.

"When you put it like that..." said Dream. He leaned over and whispered something in George's ear, causing him to burst out laughing again.

I started laughing again too. I didn't even know what was funny, it was just George's contagious laughter. I wheezed as I grabbed onto the closet thing I could for support. How was I supposed to know that Nicks hand would be the thing I grabbed?

I looked at Nick. Good thing it was dark in the car, because I could tell my cheeks were the same colour as a stop sign. In the darkness, I could make out Nicks smile as he intertwined our fingers. Butterflies infected my stomach like a virus. I felt like I could throw up, but I would throw up glitter and fairy dust instead of, ya know, vomit.

We rode the rest of the car ride in silence, Dream and George's snickers were the only sound.

I laid on my bed in my pajammas. I was wearing a black tank top and silky bottoms. My dark hair was in a messy bun and my face had been scrubbed clean of any makeup.

I laughed as I closed my phone. I quietly slipped to the kitchen to get a glass of water. I hummed softly to myself as I filled my cup.

I turned to head back to my room when a figure seemed to appear out of thin air. I dropped my cup, and the water spilled everywhere, the cup rolling away.

"JESUS! Oh hey Nick," I stuttered.

"Hey," he said with a smile.

"Sorry about that," I said, "you scared the shit out of me."

"Really? Did I scare you enough to... I dunno, have nightmares?"

I smiled and a blush crept onto my face.

"What are you asking me Nick?" I asked innocently.

"Oh nothing," he said, picking up my fallen cup off the floor, "but you know where you can find me if you uhh, have some trouble sleeping."

He winked and pointed a finger gun at me as he turned and walked away. My stomach did backflips as I mopped up the water I spilled.

I climbed into bed and my head was filled with thoughts. Was Nick asking me to cuddle with him again? What if Dream found out? Did Nick like me back? I decided to sleep on it.

Around two hours later, I lay awake. The previous thoughts still fresh in my mind. I should go see Nick. What if he was waiting for me?

I threw back the duvet. I slowly stood up. I had to go see him, and if he wasn't waiting, I'd crawl into bed with him. I walked over to the door, a newfound purpose in my step. I opened my door slowly, turning around to look at my bed. I should go back to sleep. I didn't want confrontation.

I turned back around and there he was. Nick was standing a foot away from me. He was rubbing his hand through his hair as he stared at me.

"Nick-"

He cut me off with a kiss. It was so abrupt, yet I melted into his touch. He put his hand on my lower back as I relaxed. I rested my arms on his shoulders, intertwining my fingers behind his head. I had waited for this for so long. I never wanted to leave this moment. I could replay it forever, but we broke apart. Nick's arms slowly slid around my waist and fell to his sides.

"Rylie-"

"Shh," I said, looking into his eyes, "knowing you, you'll say something dumb and ruin the moment."

Nick smiled. I smiled back. It was just us. No one else existed. It was just me and him.
