How I Met Him

Me and Tom met at my best friend... no scratch that... my 'sister's' party. She's my 'sister' because we were actually born on the same day but just born into different families. It's really weird. Anyway, she has these really huge rooftop parties where you just dance the night away and not give any shits about what's going to come tomorrow. I was just having a drink in the corner of the roof, my feet dangling over the edge looking down over it like the true loner I am and he approached me. "Don't jump," he said laughing a bit as he sat next to me. I remember laughing a bit when he said that. "Names Tom," he said smiling. "Moritaka, nice to meet you." I said. I heard him laugh a bit more. "What's so funny?" I asked him. "Oh nothing, just seems like you have a little crush on me," he said. "W-What? No! W-Where would you assume something like that?!" I stuttered. "Your tail is a dead giveaway" he said smiling taking a sip of his drink. That's when I realized that my tail was wagging like crazy. "Welp shit, you got me," I said defeated. "I think it's cute," he said turning to me. "You think so?" I asked looking at him. "I do," he said. "Cause mine won't stop waggin either," he said looking down nervously. "You maybe wanna, get somethin to eat somewhere?" he asked me. "I'd love to," I said. "Really!?" he said looking up at me super excited, his tail wagging extremely fast. "Yes really," I said smiling. "Alright! I get to go out with a cute wolf!" he said punching the air in victory. He sprung up from the ledge and offered his hand to take. "I know just the spot that has the best burgers in town, you'll love it," he said excitedly. I grabbed his hand and he pulled me to my feet. And just like that we were off. We went to this little burger joint down the street and we ate. He was right, those burgers were pretty good. Then he said that he wanted to show me something so I followed close behind him as we walked. We walked around the corner and he took his truck keys out of his pocket and pushed a button on it. The truck lights lit up for a second and then with a small beep, went dark again signifying that it was unlocked. "Hop in!" he said excitedly, his tail still wagging behind him. I got into his truck and we were off. We drove for about five minutes until we reached a gravel road which he proceeded to go onto for a while. Then he turned the car to the right so that the back was facing the city and turned the engine off. He gestured for me to follow him and I did. He hopped into the back of his truck and I did the same. "Wow..." I said looking at the view. "Right? I come here whenever I wanna be alone, gives me some time to think about things." he said with a sadness in his voice. "Well, I'm here so you don't have to feel alone," I said cuddling up next to him resting my head on his chest. He laughed a bit which I felt reverberate through his entire body. And we sat there. Just looking at the view and I felt a weird sense of calm as I listened to his heartbeat. And before I knew it, I fell asleep.
