Waking Up In The Middle Of The Night

I woke up in the middle of the night realizing that I was home. I smiled a bit when I saw that Tom's arms were around my chest. I felt him stir behind me since my tail was wagging. "H-Hey babe, is it mornin already?" he asked sleepily. "No it's still pretty early," I said. "Well then why are you up this early," he said yawning. "I'm not really sure, I just woke up," I said. He nodded. "Well try and get some more sleep babe, please, you haven't been sleeping well for a while now and I'm getting worried," Tom said sadly. "I'll try, I promise," I said pulling Tom's arm over my chest again. I felt him snicker. "You always want me to hold you huh?" he asked me. "Well of course I do, I feel safe when you hold me, and you're just... so warm," I said. He laughed a bit more. "Well I try to make you feel safe babe," he said, pulling me close to him. I smiled. "Thank you," I said. "Course," he said, yawning. "Now go back to sleep, we have to go meet Mika for breakfast remember?" he asked me. "Oh right," I said annoyed. "I know, I don't want to either but we gatta or else she's gonna track us down for sure," he said. "True," I said closing my eyes. "You gonna try?" he asked me. "I will," I said. "Thank you," Tom said, kissing my shoulder. "No, thank you," I said. "For what?" Tom asked. "Just for... not giving up on me," I said sadly. "I will never give up on you, I will never leave you, and I will certainly, never stop loving you," Tom said. I smiled as I felt my tail wag between Tom's legs. "Sleep now my pup," Tom said stroking my head. "I will," I yawned, closing my eyes once more, and drifted off to sleep.
