Finals Day (Part 1)

"BABE! WAKE UP WERE GONNA BE LATE!" I heard Tom yell as he shook me. "Huh?" I said groggily. "We have finals today! We cant be late!" he yelled. "Okay, okay, I'm getting up,'' I said, yawning. I lazily got out of bed and brushed my teeth. Tom helped me get my pants and shirt on while I ate breakfast as fast as I could. And just like that we were off. "Shit shit shit shit," Tom said as he hurried to the drivers side of his truck. I got into the passengers side and buckled myself in. Tom drove as fast as he could while I struggled to get my tie on. "Here," Tom said as he pulled up to a red light. He got both ends of the tie, put on half here, another there, did some weird loop thing with it, and pulled and just like that it was perfect. "H-How?" I asked him in disbelief. "Just come with practice babe, like anything," he said, flooring the gas pedal as the light turned green. "Alright babe, hold on," he said as he gripped the steering wheel. I held on tightly to the handle above the window next to me as he made a sharp right turn into the school's parking lot. "Gatta love college huh? No late passes or anythin," He said getting out of the truck. "You got that right," I said as I reached into the back for... wait... where is it. "Babe we gotta get goin!" he said, gesturing to me to hurry. "Oh shit... you forgot it didn't you?" He asked me. I nodded. "Alright, get to class. I'll go home and get it for you," he said. "Are you sure you'll make it on time?" I asked him concerned, quickly getting out of the truck. "Have faith in me babe. I'll be back before you know it," He said smiling. "Alright drive safe!" I yelled as he sped off. I don't even think he stopped at the red light. It amazes me how he ever got his license.
