We walked for about ten minutes and Tom was right, it was going to be chilly today but I'm happy that I got to wear his jacket. When we made it to the breakfast place he opened the door for me and I walked inside feeling him walk in close behind me. "Where ya wanna sit?" he asked me looking around at the empty booths. "Maybe by the window?" I asked him looking for permission. He nodded. "Good choice babe," he said, grabbing hold of my hand again and leading me over to the open window booth. It's not very busy in the restaurant since it's still pretty early in the morning, but there are still a large number of people here. I sit down and Tom sits next to me as I put my velvet sack on the window side of the booth. "Now come here you," he says holding me tightly. I smile as I hold onto him feeling warmth radiate off of him. "Wow, you're right, you are warm," I said amazed. "Told yah," he said smiling. We sat there just holding each-other when a waitress came over and asked us what we would like to order. "Just three orders of pancakes please," Tom said politely. "Anything else?" she asked. Tom looked at me and I shook my head. "I think we're all good," he said to the waitress. "Alright I will have those out for you in about ten minutes or so," she said scribbling something down on her notepad and walking away. "Wait babe, why three orders?" I asked him, confused. He laughed a bit. "How else do you think I'm gonna keep this bod? Gatta eat a-lot," he said smiling at me. "True," I said resting my head on his belly. And we stayed like that until the food came. Me and Tom aren't big on small talk. Personally I think small talk is so painful because, and I quote, "If you have to fill up the space between you and your companion, then you don't deserve to even breath next to them. If you can't see that their company is worth more than just some bland words then why the hell do you keep trying to stay with them?" My dad said that to me after my first breakup with a rhino beast-man. My dad isn't really big on giving compassion but he can see when someone really just needs someone to hold for a while. And Tom doesn't like small talk because he just doesn't really know what to talk about. Simple as that.
