A few hours later I was done with both of the tests. I couldn't just copy my answers and put them onto Tom's test because first off, our tests were different versions. Second, I had to make my handwriting look like his. Third, I had to use his sort of abbreviated language. But we had three hours to complete this hunk of a final so I had much time to spare. I raised my hand signifying I was done. The teacher looked at me and nodded and I got up and took both mine and Tom's tests and put them in the basket on the teachers desk. "Sir, can I go to the vending machines please?" I asked quietly. Without looking up from his computer screen he nodded. I turned and walked up the stairs to the door, got my velvet sack and slung the strap over my shoulder, then I slowly opened the door so it wouldn't squeak and closed it slowly so it wouldn't slam. Then I was off for the machine which was at the end of the hallway. It's not a long hallway but it sure takes you a while to get there. I stared at the assortment of chips and drinks in the machine and punched in a couple numbers and letters into the keypad on the machine and inserted my money into the little slot above the keypad. Seconds later the soda came down gracefully but the chips that I bought got stuck in the machine. "Oh not again," I said frustrated. I walked to the side of the machine and was about to kick it when the janitor came out of his closet. "Mori... don't... you... break... another... vending... machine... I... can... open... it... for... you... if... you... would... like... just... do... not... do... another... one... of... your... hurricane... kicks... on... it... please..." the janitor said slowly. "Yes sir, I apologize." I said backing away from the vending machine. The janitor walked over and slowly inserted the key into the machine and turned it ever so slowly. When the glass door of the machine popped open the chips that i bought fell to the ground with a crunch of aluminum hitting the tile floor. "Here... you... go...," the janitor said, gesturing to me to take what I wanted. "Are you sure this is okay?" I asked unsure. He simply just nodded. "Well thank you, I appreciate it very much," I said smiling. "Just... close... the... door... when... your... done... or... else... we... will... both... get... in... trouble...," he said so slowly. I nodded. "Will do," I said to assure him. He waved and turned around to start slowly mopping the floor. I got my soda and chips and got Tom some of his favorite spicy chips and this licorice soda he likes. Then I closed the glass door making sure it clicked back into the locked position and hurried back to class.
