___________________________________Back in Amity's room Luz placed the plate on her desk. The witch followed a bit later, some water bottles in her arms. She closed the door with her foot behind her back. She must've done this fairly often before as it looked like a normal routine.
>>I've some water in case we get thirsty.<<
Amity smiled at Luz. Then she placed the bottles on the desk behind the plate with the cookies and offered the human one bottle. The latter thanked her friend and took the bottle to immediately take a few sips. She must've been thirsty. Already closing the bottle again Luz looked at Amity's bed, as she jumped over to get the book from it. Then she sat down on the blanket on the ground, patting it next to her so signal Amity to sit down next to her. The witch in fact did what Luz kinda asked her to do. She sat down, pulling her knees in front of her chest and wrapping her arms around them. She looked at Luz which blinked a few times before she quietly breathed in.>>Soooo...? We're gonna start?<<
Luz held up her Azura book and tabbed the cover twice. Amity nodded and slid a bit closer to Luz so she could actually read. The human opened the book on the first page. Amity's eyes flew over the pages, reading the words on the page with a passion. She didn't even notice that she leaned closer to Luz over time. They were both caught in the pages. To Amity's surprise both, her and Luz, had the exact same reading speed. Or Luz was just waiting a bit after she finished every page. The girls went through the first three chapters in like one hour. Then Luz put the book down, stood up and jumped to the desk. Amity watched her, spacing out again. Luz then explained that she wanted to eat some of the self-made cookies. As Amity tried not to zone out completely Luz took a step towards their reading place to take a sip from her water bottle. It seemed like Luz didn't have a lotta concentration left. She was looking around in Amity's room again. What was everyone's thing with her room?
>>You have so many books, Ammy! Did you read all of them?<<
Amity indeed had several filled bookshelves. Some of the books where just for the aesthetic, but she read most of them. Obviously she told the same thing to Luz. The human asked questions about what happened in the past years again. Her attention span was enormous...Surprisingly not a lot of stuff happened. She was still on the Abomination track, the relationship between her and Willow was still complicated but not as tense as it used to. She kept her... friendship with Skara and the other girls the same while things between her and Boscha got kinda quiet. After a short break where the witch waited for a reaction from Luz she continued to scratch on the topic of her family. She didn't say a lot but explained how she stood up against her mother because she got tired of being forced to dye her hair, and that their relationship wasn't getting better because of this choice.
Whether Luz noticed that Amity didn't really wanted to talk about that topic or if she just didn't care the witch was relieved that her friend didn't ask any questions about her relationship with her family. But when she looked up from her fingers which she was bending in an possible directions Luz was only a few inches away from her face. In her gay panic Amity almost fell backwards on the blanket. But due to Luz reflexes she was able to safe the witch from hurting herself because of the fall. Amity really forgot that Luz... loves backstories. So that didn't change either.
>>You good?<<
Her cheeks still red the witch nodded. Luz must've jumped up because she was now kneeling over Amity, firmly holding her at the shoulders. They both sat up again, still looking into each other's eyes. They eventually broke their staring contest to not look at each other at all.
>>So uh... balance, huh?<<
>>Yea. I forgot that you.. tend to get so close.<<
Luz turned her head to look at Amity, a bit of amusement in her expression. She noticed that the tips of Amity's ears where bright red.
