Her head redder than ever before Amity stared into Luz's eyes. She slowly lost the courage and words she wanted to say. No! Not again, this time she had to confess. There's nothing to be afraid of. It's... cool.
>>Well, Luz... I-I like you. More than others. You're special to me.<<
>>Like love?<<
>>Yes-<<
Amity was a bit surprised about the sound of the word. Luz said it like she knew about Amity's feelings although her expression showed pure astonishment. The witch cleared her throat, unsure if she should raise her voice again or not.

There was a deafening silence in the room and Amity felt like she had to say something. Luz was calm, waiting for Amity to continue; or not. She didn't want to cut off the witch's words. But Luz was worried about the shade of red Amity's head had. Amity was tapping on her knee with her fingertips, trying to get as calm as Luz seemed. While thinking about what she could say the words came out like word vomit.

>>I'm sorry! Please don't hate me. I-I've never confessed before.<<
Amity put her arms in front of her face as some sort of protection while she struggled to stop apologizing. Luz exhaled before laying her hands on Amity's arms, gently pushing them down so she could look into Amity's eyes while talking. The touch was warm and made the Blight feel secure. She was able to stop her word vomit and just looked into Luz's eyes like the human did with her.

>>Amity.<<
The witch nodded as if she wanted to agree on her name, clearly scared of Luz's reaction or words she might say. Luz had the most heartwarming smile on her lips that Amity ever saw in her whole life.
>>Try to calm down, okay? Everything is fine. Also I definitely don't hate you.<<

>>Thanks. I just kinda hit you outta the blue with this, sorry. But you'd have enough reasons to ha-<<
>>Amity, you're starting to talk yourself into that mindset. I don't hate you. Not at all.<<
Luz was clearly trying her best to calm Amity down, a bit lost with the things she could say. Yea these posts about what to say to calm someone down didn't stick in her head. The witch looked like she was about to cry. Meanwhile Luz herself was starting to panic inside. Mostly because she didn't expect a confession like that from Amity, but also because she was... excited? No, it's more like happiness. Sheer joy.

So Luz took Amity's hands, gently squeezing them. At this point her face was red too. But the witch managed to see the blush on Luz's cheeks in the dimmed the room.
>>I kinda hoped you'd say something like this one day actually, y'know? But I didn't expect you to actually confess.<<
She stopped talking for a second. Swallowing her doubt before continuing to talk.
>>Me gustas.<<

Amity had no clue what Luz said. The latter must've noticed as she let out an awkward laugh and tried to form her confession again and with less spanish. The human scanned her opponent's face while slowly breathing to get her next sentence out without stuttering or falling back into spanish.

>>Amity Blight, I— I love you. And I don't mean as my best friend. I mean love love.<<
Amity didn't know how to handle the answer Luz just gave her. She quietly took her hands out of Luz's grip and pinched herself to make sure she wasn't dreaming. Luz just watched her, a weird smile on her face, trying to cover her nervousness. Then Amity fell into Luz's arms, giving her something close to a hug while Luz herself was struggling to keep her balance. The witch was so relieved, she couldn't help but start laughing. But she also started crying without knowing the reason. Her feelings were completely mixed up at this point.

>>Amity is everything okay?! Why are you crying?<<
Amity shrugged but gave Luz an answer, trying to keep her voice steady.
>>I dunno. I'm just happy. This is real, right? It's not a dream, this is happening right now.<<
>>Yea, pretty sure it's real. Or we share a dream, which would be pretty weird, even for the Boiling Isles. Now talking, why is the library opened on a Sunday..?<<
>>I- I've no clue.<<
After a short silence, still holding each other in their arms, they both started laughing. Then they got out of the hug, just to hug each other again.
