The week got by way too fast. But during that week, they agreed on meeting in the afternoon so Luz could sleep a few hours longer; she obviously didn't mention that but it was pretty obvious. Now sitting in the living room of the owl house Amity was actually nervous. She has never been in the human realm before. Quietly she watched Luz and Eda talk, making rough plans what to do after they went through the door... portal..? Portal-door? Who knows. King, watching them as well looked over to Amity, who sat next to him.
>>You do that a lot?<<
Confused she looked at the little demon. He pointed at her hands, just now Amity noticed that she was drumming with her fingertips on her knees again. A bit embarrassed she folded her hands between her knees so she'd stop the drumming. As if he was disappointed King rolled his eyes, then he laid down on the sofa next to Amity.
Finally, Luz turned to her, a smile on her lips. As if she was asking what the human girl wanted, Amity tilted her head. In a few bubbly words Luz told her, they could go now. She planned to stay for a few hours only so they could get back in time.
>>And you're sure you wanna take me with you?<<
Luz nodded, telling Amity they could hold hands if she wanted to while going through the door. Obviously she agreed to hold hands.
>>Okay, let's do this.<<
They stepped through the door and were temporarily blinded by a bright light. Amity needed a few seconds until she was able to see clearly again. It seemed like Luz was used to the bright light. The world looked different. It was a lot more green than Amity was use to.
>>This is different. I mean, I knew the human realm was gonna be different but...<<
Amity didn't bother to finish her sentence. She looked over to Luz, who was simply looking at Amity, seemingly waiting for something.
>>You wanna look around for a bit?<<
The witch shook her head, still holding onto her girlfriend's hand.
Luz explained how they could get to her home. Amity looked at her, nodding as if she knew what was going on. She followed Luz, still holding her hand, getting more and more nervous.
>>Luz I-<<
The human girl stopped. They were about to leave the forest and step on a sidewalk.
>>Oh, yea you probably have a lot of questions.<<
>>Not really. But I was never here before. And I'm about to meet your mom. Should I like do something? I should've brought flowers, shouldn't I?<<
Luz giggled as Amity continued to name things she should've done. After some seconds of Amity's word vomit Luz decided to stop her, assuring that she didn't need to take anything with her.
They continued to go their way. Well, Amity was just following Luz, not knowing where they'd end up. A few people looked at them as they crossed each other on the streets. Feeling out of place Amity untucked her hair from behind her ears to hide these. She also lifted her shoulders to seem shorter than she already was.
They stopped in front of a house. Luz seemed to realize a bit too late that she just left her home without a message to her mother for easily more than two weeks. But she had already rang the doorbell. Amity stood next to Luz but had to jump to the side in order to dodge the door which swung open. A woman around Amity's height stepped out of the house. She stared at Luz for around one minute.
Then she started talking to Luz in a language Amity didn't understand before they hugged. The witch stepped out of the door's shadow, feeling a bit awkward just standing and staring. After some seconds Amity decided to look away. She didn't want to come off as weird. So she stood there, her fingers tapping her leg as her eyes ran around to scan the strange environment.
