Standing in front of the heavy doors of her own house Amity got a bit nervous. But she entered anyways, followed by Luz. She just noticed that the human wasn't in her house before. With a shiver in her voice she told Luz to follow her. The twins would show up as soon as they'd heard the door of Amity's room open and close. As expected, she was right. Not soon after they entered the witch's room the door opened again. While Amity's friend was looking around in her room with a childlike fascination Edric and Emira peeked into the room before opening the door completely. Their eyes widened in joy as they saw the human.
>>Woah! It's Luz!<<
Emira nodded in agreement. They both openly showed how excited they where. In disbelief Edric poked Luz's right shoulder. As he realized that she in fact was real the witch began to smile just like his twin. He looked dumb with his big grin in Amity's opinion. She chuckled about Edric's weird self. It was good to see the three of them goof around together like they did two years ago.
>>Where did you found her?<<
Amity tried to answer her sister's question but Luz got ahead of her and explained how she got back and searched for the witch. Edric and Emira where exchanging obvious looks as Luz kept on explaining how she got back to the Boiling Isles and what happened to her in the past two years. Amity got some new informations from listening to Luz chatting with the twins. even though she really didn't want to interrupt the three of them she gave Emira a look that told her that she and her brother should leave. The older witch touched her brothers shoulder and nodded into Amity's direction. A smug smile appeared on his face. Both Edric and Emira stretched their backs and went to the door to leave.
>>Ahhhhhhh! I get it, good luck!<<
>>And don't screw up!<<
Amity could see in Luz's face how confused she was. The things that the twins said must've made no sense at all to the human. But Amity, her head in a deep shade of red, understood exactly what they meant. She sighted and lay down on her bed.
Amity's eyes where closed but she noticed that something lay down on her bed right next to her. The witch felt warmth spraying on her right side, where her bed and mattress moved, and was sure the familiar smell of lemons was closer. She didn't even need to open her eyes to know that Luz lay down next to her. She felt Luz eyes on her face and couldn't help but turn her head to look at the human. The latter smiled brightly at Amity, which made her blush in confusion. So the witch backed up a little, hoping that Luz wouldn't see her blushing that way, but was able to keep eye contact. She told herself to keep her cool. The human girl sat up and smiled again, Amity did the same. It was an awkward situation which both of them noticed. Amity looked down at her hands, black nailpolish shimmering on her nails like it always did. She noticed that Luz was looking around in her room, still fascinated. She moved her hands on the blanket, just a little bit but still enough to let the witch notice the action before she looked into Luz's face which was still looking around in the room. Amity pulled her legs up in front of her chest and let her head rest on her knees, still watching Luz. Their eyes met; the human must've noticed Amity's eyes on her face. Worry was readable in her expression.
>>Amity... is-<<
>>Oh, it's nothing, it's nothing! But it feels so surreal that you're here again, acting like you were never really away.<<
>>Well, I started to miss the Boiling Isles soon after I got back to my world. It's just so great to be back in this slightly disturbing fairytale-like world!<<
The words made Amity chuckle. It was good that Luz was back. It was great that her optimistic personality didn't change over the years. For a second Amity thought about asking Luz the question that burned on her soul since the human was back.
But before she could Luz pointed out her height and asked what happened or rather what didn't happen. The witch's expression was now overly disappointed. She was suddenly in the mood for some jokes.
>>Oh wow. At least I'm not a dunderhead like-<<
>>Your brother?<<
>>No, i meant you... Wait a second, did you just roasted Edric?<<
Amity was surprised that Luz was actually able to counter like that.
>>I'm joking. Your siblings are so cool, Amity. How could I roast them?<<
>>I mean, you wouldn't be wrong...<<
Luz lifted an eyebrow as a cheeky smile appeared on her face, it was a bit helpless. In Amity's opinion it was the most beautiful smile she had seen in a while.
