THIS IS US

Part 20

"Ready boys?" James asked the boys as we reached the set and One Direction walked out all dressed with Rachel walking out behind them. Lou and Lottie walked over to them and worked on their hair as they went over some details. I was standing next to Scott, going over the timings of the interview after the Karaoke
"Yup, now you are," Lou says stepping away from Niall as he fixes his hair and Lou glares at him and fixes it again.   

"Great, now Harry get into that car and the others, these lads will take you to your locations," James informed them, pointing over to 3 guys with ID around their neck. The boys nodded and went with their respective drivers and Harry walked towards the car. 

I stay back with Scott and the team to watch the whole thing on a screen and make sure everything is right and help in the editing process. Lou and Lottie would be going with the boys for their hair and makeup and stuff.

"So what did he say?" Rachel asked referring to the conversation we were having before we reached and got busy with work and had to cut the conversation short. I was telling her about how Simon called me this morning and how it was I much fun talking to him, how he wouldn't admit calling me to wish me for my birthday.

The conversation started with me picking up the call and him beating around the bush, asking me how the job was going and how the boys are doing.

'Everything is going well Simon, I would call you if something wasn't right, you called for another reason.' I said and I could imagine him rolling his eyes.

'Yeah, right I forgot, Happy Birthday Katherine." He said, which made me smile.

'Thanks, Simon, it means a lot." Receiving a hum in response and we went back to our normal banter about small things. Simon maybe this hard on the outside and very straightforward to a point where he doesn't care how it affects the other person but he has such a good heart and honestly out of everyone he knew how much I needed this break and gave me a perfect opportunity for it and that's something I am grateful to him about.

I even talked to Laura and Eric, when they called me to give me Birthday wishes, which was so sweet.

The music and the voices from the screen brought me out of my thoughts as I shifted my attention back to the screen where Harry was in a flowery print suit, bobbing his head to the music playing on the radio when a One Direction song comes up and he sighs out loud with a small smile on his face. He was singing along to 'Walking in the wind' from Made In The Am album, enjoying the music. 

He spots something on the side of the road, and the camera follows his eyes and Liam is seen standing there with a fake surprised look on his face. Harry parks the car as rehearsed and steps out of it to greet Liam and they hug each other and suddenly burst into laughter. The photographer and the director pause the video and wait for them to gather themselves and continue shooting. 

Rachel and I look at each other and chuckle. The shooting continues with them having so many bloopers that we had to shoot multiple times. 

"Want to listen to some music man," Harry says in his deep voice.

"Yeah sure." Liam replies and 'Drag me Down' starts playing.

'Nobody can drag me down." They sing along, voices fitting perfectly with each other.

"I missed this," Liams says fixing his hair.

"Yeah, I am so happy to be back," Harry adds glancing at Liam with a smile and they talk about each other's solo songs and 'Get Low' starts playing. In between the song, Liam starts talking,

"I heard Nialler is also in LA, let's call him?" 

"Yeah" Harry smiles widely, showing his excitement. Liam dials something in his phone and put it on his ear.
