THIS IS US

Part 29

"So, I  did my research and figured out what mess Scarlett and her friend created," I said as we sat down in the conference table, I spent the morning with this whole thing, about what they did and tried my best to figure out how they did it.

It seems that they not only spread bad rumours about the boys but they also included some crew members which includes, Scott, Jeff, Paul, Sarah, Rachel, Lou and me. According to Scarlett I am in a secret relationship with Louis and haven't told anyone as it will be against the contract. I still have no idea how she figured out what was in my contract. They had found some dirt on each one of us here. 

"What the fuck.." Niall mutters under his breath as he looks over the papers and the articles I had placed in front of them, all of them were quiet. I was looking at Rachel, she was looking over some of the articles about her. I didn't want her to worry about this. She has faced enough criticism in her life, to deal with this. 

Every career journey has it's own struggles, for her it was the competition that she had to face to reach somewhere she wants to be in. Her journey to Chanel wasn't easy and I have seen it, there were jobs she used to work in where her every idea was criticised or rejected. 

She was put down too many times but seeing her hold her ground and ignore everything while focussing on her goal as she reached to the top was very inspiring. I was proud how strong and determined she has been from the start and honestly other than her talent, that attitude got her to the place she is in now, where people wait for her new ideas and designs. 

Her face was blank as she read through the pages and saw the pictures. She sighed and looked up at me with that same expression but knowing her too well, I know she was shaken but was trying hard to think straight. I gave her a small reassuring smile, communicating with my eyes to let her know that it will be okay and we will deal with it.

"This is fucking insane," Louis says as he looks at Jeff and me. 

"We know," Jeff says softly rubbing the back of his neck as his eyes were on one of the papers in front of him.

I looked at Lou and Lottie, they looked surprised and disgusting but not surprised. I guess they have faced something like this before but something tells me, not as serious and messed up. Louis was running a hand through his hair, while Liam was just shaking his head, Niall looked angry and Harry was playing with his rings while his eyes were on the screen of the laptop. 

" 10 years in this industry, I don't think we have faced something like this before and I don't think this ends here," Liam speaks after a while. I sat down on the chair across the boys and next to Jeff. 

" I just can't figure out, why they would do something like this? I mean, the photoshoot was fine, they got good content when they joined us for the rest of the tour but I just don't understand." I said as I cracked my knuckles to get rid of the tension.

"Jeff and I are planning to calmly talk to Scarlett and if things go out of hand, we will call their higher authorities and deal with this situation," Paul explains and I shake my head slightly.

"No, let me go talk to her. Based on what I have read about myself, I don't think my opinions or anything coming from me would matter to them. Making them think, you sent as an Assistant Manager to deal with this, thus underestimating us, making things easier for us." I said.

"Are you sure?" Jeff asked and I nod.

"Yup, I think this will be better for all of us," I say.

"I don't think so, we don't even know if this is safe." Niall points out.

"I agree, what if she manipulates you," Harry adds. 

"Kat, we appreciate you doing this but it's just this industry works differently and sometimes unfairly and dangerously," Liam says.
