Third Person POV
It took Heiji two whole hours to finally release herself into a sound slumber. Although she is a heavy sleeper, like most, her thoughts really dictate when she can finally be at peace, doing her favourite thing: sleeping. When she can't sleep, she ends up more frustrated and generates more unnecessary thoughts which in turn keep her up longer.
She had just wished Seoho wasn't such a blunt person in terms of his emotions. Sure, they were great friends and had been for a few years, he fitted in well with the group and he was generally a likeable person. When it came to situations where they were alone, or had to talk alone, he somewhat had a wall up. Yet, when he had a wider audience of his friends he would appear completely different. It ultimately caused Heiji to reach a conclusion that there was something between the two. He seemed to care about her more than the other girls, like yesterday; he showed up to make sure she wasn't alone on her birthday, planned everything for her.
She wondered if she was looking too far into it, she wondered if she was crazy for taking the assumption from actions that were so small, although meaningful, that he had some special soft spot for her. Or maybe she was just thinking what she wanted into existence, even though that was only a small part of her conscious telling her she liked him. She probably just liked the way he treated her, favoured her.
The girls had noticed, undoubtedly, they knew he treated her differently from them. Sure, he loved them and protected them as his sisters, but with Heiji it was different. With a man who looks like he does, with a lovely personality, it isn't hard to see why Heiji would yearn for something from the blonde boy. However, the fact that her feelings towards the situation were rather wishy-washy as opposed to a set in stone 'I like him' spoke volumes to her, and made her question if she really liked him in that way.
"I guess we'll see after this mate date," she grumbled, looking at her phone to see if he had texted her back about the plans for the day, which he hadn't yet. Not to worry, though, it was still only 10am and she was only heading to her first class.
Heiji was in her first year of studying Sociology and Psychology at university. She had worked hard over the year taken out after high school to improve her knowledge of psychology in night classes at college whilst working part time at a local convenience store, 10 minutes from her house to be exact. Pretty handy, and she needed to help her mother out as best as she could.
"I hope you all had a lovely weekend, time to turn our attention to the excerpts from 'The Sociological Imagination' I asked you to consider, and form small groups to discuss each question I assigned" The lecturer states, everyone shuffling around awkwardly to form a group. "Groups of five please."
Heiji desperately looks around the room to find her only two friends from her class, who she didn't sit with this morning since she wandered in just as the clock hit 10am.
"Heiji, over here," She hears Jinsoul call from the corner of the room. Seeing the two familiar faces, she makes her way towards the two, feeling relieved. "How was your birthday honey?"
