"What about this one?" Chloe asked holding up a bright pink dress to show the other girls.
The girls were all dress shopping in the mall. Zoe, Naomi and Aliyah were sitting on the couch thing in front of Chloe.
"That looks fine." Naomi shrugged.
"I'm not looking for fine, I want incredible." Chloe whined putting the dress back where she found it.
"Chlo, you have a closet full of dresses, why do you need another one?" Naomi asked.
"This is prom Naomi. I want to look my absolute best."
"Did she find a dress yet?" Martha asked walking up to them and standing behind Naomi.
"Nope." Aliyah shook her head.
"You're honestly over thinking this. McGregor won't care what you wear." Martha sighed.
"I know he won't."
"Then why are we still here?!" Naomi and Martha both asked.
"I just want to find the perfect dress." Chloe shrugged.
"This is gonna take forever." Martha groaned.
"What's with you two? You've been sulking since we got here." Aliyah asked the two cousins.
"They hate shopping." Chloe shrugged.
"Why go shopping when you can order it online?" Naomi shrugged.
"Going shopping is way more fun." Phoebe told them as she also looked for a dress with Chloe.
"If you want this to go faster then help us find our dresses." Aliyah told them getting up to look for a dress.
Martha let out a loud sigh before going over to help them. Naomi looked next to her and looked at Zoe who was busy with something on her phone.
"You okay? You've been quiet since we got here." Naomi said putting her hand on Zoe's shoulder.
"Sorry what?" Zoe asked looking at her confused.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm great. I'd be way better if Zac would text me back."
"Why are you even texting Zac?"
"I need him to get me something but he stopped texting me back five minutes ago." Zoe sighed.
"Don't you think he'll text you when he has what you asked him for? Relax."
"Okay. Let's go help Chloe get her dress so we can get the hell out of here." Zoe smiled seeing Naomi's smile get brighter at the thought of finally leaving the store.
Meanwhile Zac was in a jewelry store like Zoe had instructed him to do. He looked around to see the necklaces.
"Which one did Zoe want again?" Zac asked himself look at the different necklaces in front of him.
Zac: Hey Z, which necklace did you want me to get you again?
Zoe: Silver necklace with a silver heart shaped pendent. It has sapphire surrounded by tiny diamonds. How many times do I have to tell you this?
Zac: I have a terrible memory, you know this.
Zoe: Whatever just get me that necklace.
Zac: Will do.
Zac put his phone away and looked at the different necklaces. He looked at the heart shaped ones a bit confused. He stood there for a good two minutes before grabbing his phone from his pocket.
Zac: Hey Z? What's a sapphire again?
Zoe: BLUE ZAC! Just look for a blue rock. 🤦
Zac: No need to yell.
Zoe: Just get me the necklace dude.
Zac: 👌
Zac put his phone back in his pocket and picked out the necklace he was instructed to get.
He payed for the necklace and made his way out the store towards the fountain where his mom was waiting.
"I got it. Where's Jessica?" Zac asked looking around for his sister.
"She went to sit in the car. She said waiting for you is boring."
Zac nodded and made his way to the car with his mom. Jessica was sitting in the front seat going through her phone.
"Let's get this show on the road. Just because you're done with you exams doesn't mean the rest of us are." Jessica said as Zac and their mom got in the car.
"Sorry, I forgot what sapphires look like so I took a bit longer than expected." Zac sighed.
"Blue Zac, sapphires are blue." Jessica deadpanned.
"Well I know that now." Zac rolled his eyes as his mom started the car.
Zac: I got your necklace. Why were you so obsessed with it anyway?
Zoe: That's not important. Just bring the necklace to school on Monday.
Zac: Fine🙄
Zoe put her phone in her pocket and looked at the next to her with a smile.
"What's got you so smiley?" Naomi raised an eyebrow putting a spoonful of frozen yogurt in her mouth.
"You'll see soon." Zoe smirked pecking Naomi's cheek.
"You're scaring me." Naomi said with eyebrows raised.
"What do mean?"
"The grinning, texting in private, PDA to distract me and throw me off my game. What are you up to?" Naomi chuckled at bit.
"Nothing, just eat your frozen yogurt." Zoe shrugged.
"Okay, we got our dresses. What else do we need?" Aliyah asked sitting down with Martha, Chloe and Phoebe.
"Please don't tell me we have to do more shopping." Martha whined.
"Yeah I agree with Martha on this one. I'm tired of shopping." Zoe nodded.
"Fine, no more shopping. You guys whine too much." Chloe rolled her eyes eating some of her frozen yogurt.
On Monday Zoe met up with Zac by his locker. "You got it?" Zoe asked him.
"Yep, I got the stuff." Zac said getting the rectangular blue velvet box out his locker. He looked around to see if anyone was looking at them.
Zoe tilted her head in confusion. "Boy we're not selling drugs. What's wrong with you?"
"Sorry, I've always wanted to do that. I always see it in movies." Zac smiled and Zoe rolled her eyes.
"Just give me the damn box Zac."
"Right. Here you go." Zac said handing her the box.
Zoe smiled at it and opened it. "Perfect." She whispered looking at the necklace inside the box.
"So are you going to tell me why you wanted the necklace so bad or not?"
"Not. I am definitely not going to tell you."
"Why not? How can you trust me to be the one who gets it for you then not tell me why you want it so much."
"It's for someone special. That's all I'm gonna tell you." Zoe said putting the box in her backpack
"Who is it?" Zac asked excitedly.
"Who's who?" Naomi asked from behind Zoe along with Martha.
"Zoe's special someo-" Zac stopped talking when Zoe elbowed him in the ribs.
"It's nothing. Don't worry about it." Zoe smiled.
"Okay, let's go then."
Zoe nodded and walked away with Naomi to the principal's office for some announcement.
