Real Name - Judith Lewis

Born - 27 July 1973, Tehran, Iran

Judith Lewis, better known by her pen name Cassandra Clare is the author of Shadowhunter Chronicles, the series that swept the whole world.

Early Life

Ever since she was a child, she has travelled the world with her parents - spending time in Switzerland, England, and France with her parents. She returned to Los Angeles to finish high school while also working at many entertainment companies by writing magazines, articles and tabloids.

During this time, Judith under her pen name Cassandra Clare started to write fanfictions. The Draco Trilogy based on Harry Potter and The Very Secret Diaries based on The Lord of the rings.

She started working on her first publish book, City of Bones in 2007 thus introducing us into the thrilling and daring Shadow World.

The Mortal Instruments

The first book in this series, City of Bones was released by Simon and Schuster. The story is set around the life of Clary Fray as she gets tangled into the world of demons and angles with the bestfriend Simon Lewis and the mysterious shadowhunter Jace Wayland. Many secrets that her mother hid are unrevealed and she has to end a fight which started long before she was born.

With many diverse characters, this book became really popular and is continued with City of Ashes, City of Glass, City of Fallen Angles and City of Heavenly Fire.

The Infernal Devices

The Infernal Devices is the prequel to the Mortal Instruments with another tale of London shadowhunters and and American warlock (or is she?). Set in Victorian London, the series doesn't only have a thrilling plotline but also a heart breaking love story of Jem Carstairs, Tessa Gray and WIll Herondale. The idea of this story was inspired when Cassie visited London's Blackfriar's Bridge.

The Dark Artifices

Set after City of Heavenly Fire, the Cold peace has caused unrest between the Seelies and the Clave. Emma Carstairs first and foremost plan was to find the murderer of her parents but unravels a whole different mystery. Grapling with her feelings for her parabatai Julian Blackthorn who himself has dark secrets himself, this is a whole new level and Cassandra created a whole new level of adventure.
