Kelsey’s P.O.V.

“What are we doing here?” A confused Bigi asked after taking a seat right in front of me. The two of us are both homebody so we just decided to hangout in my house.

Mom was asleep upstairs, Dad was away in a conference for a couple of days and Max was in her room doing who knows what. We have the first floor all to ourselves. We would’ve hung out inside my room but Mom wasn’t entirely in good terms with that, for her guests should be in the living room and not in bedrooms. Most especially since Bigi is a boy and I know it’s not like we’re going to do something unholy, my parents aren’t much of a fan of that. It’s a thing when you have overprotective parents.

“We’re going to study.” I said and he rolled his eyes at me making me laugh at his reactions.

“Look, you’re gonna ace the exam even if you don’t study.” He said while smiling and this time, I was the one who rolled my eyes at him.

“So, tell me, what are we going to do?” He asked after he finished dialing on his phone for some food delivery.

“I was just gonna talk to you about something.” I said contemplating on whether I should tell him what Chloe and I talked about over lunch earlier this day. Even playing with my fingers. Gosh, why am I so nervous? I shouldn’t be nervous!

“Oh yeah, about that. What did you and Chloe talk about earlier?” He asked making me look at him straight into his eyes. I have NEVER been the type to make great eye contact with the people I have been with. Perhaps that’s why… I shook my head with the sudden flashback inside my head. I took a deep breathe and smiled at the boy in front of me.

“We were just talking about what we talked about back at Gracie’s.” I said and he seemed a little shock, the reaction was so subtle I almost didn’t believe it had registered on his face.

“What about it?” I smirked on the inside knowing he’s playing it cool.

“Well, she made me realize quite a few things.” I answered truthfully. One of his eyebrows raised at me as if asking me to continue what I have been talking about.

Honestly, even after class, Chloe was almost close to not letting me go. Why? I don’t even know myself.

“So you’re agreeing to be my girlfriend?” I couldn’t hide my smile at his question and nodded. Before I knew it, he was already hugging me almost squeezing me actually. My heart raised its beat because of the sudden contact.

We were staying in that position when I suddenly heard a cough making the two of us look towards that direction. Max was standing on the end of the stairs with a teasing look on her face making the two of us pull away from each other.

“I shouldn’t have interrupted you guys. Go on, continue what you were doing.” Max said and I rolled my eyes at her.

“I have completely forgotten about her.” Bigi blurted out and I chuckled at him.

The food came and Max had already went back to her room not after taking several boxes of food with her which Bigi payed for and thanking Bigi while calling him ‘Kuya’. She never even once called Charles like that, just plain Charles. No honorifics.

“I’m sorry for my sister.” I said

“Nah, I ordered extra for her.”

“You’re trying to be on her good side, aren’t you?” I teased him and he was just laughing at me while he ruffled my hair.

I slowly got comfortable with the position we are in, me in his arms while we were watching something on the television.

I have never been the one to tell what I really felt, maybe that’s why everything went downhill for me. A smile secretly crept onto my face while our attention is on the television. Honestly, my heart was pounding the whole time-- actually everytime that I’m with him.

The two of us were laughing at the television when something flashed at the back of my head.

Fatima.

The accident.
