Kelsey's P.O.V.
"This will be our new home now, huh." Max whispered examining the interior of the house we just moved in.
"Quit being judgemental and get your bags into your room." I whispered back nudging her
"So, what do you think about our house?" Dad asked and both my sister and I had looked at each other.
The house was a normal American-styled house. The usual design you can see on the televisions and movies.
"Fair enough." I said shrugging my shoulders.
"Your rooms have names on them, you can take your bags now." Dad said
"You mean, we don't get to share our rooms this time?" Max asked and Dad nodded. "Sweet!" She said grabbing her bag and made her way to the stairs.
"At last! No more kicks in the face!" I shouted and I hear Dad laughed
I was about to go upstairs but then I remembered something.
"Where's Mom?" I asked
"On her way home from work. Just dropped by to the market to buy something for dinner." Dad said.
"Oh I hope it's meat. Like chicken or pork or beef or something." I muttered under my breath
"Why?" Dad chuckled
"I just got tired of vegetables and fish. Grandma, I think, doesn't know any other dishes except for those and I just got sick of it." Dad ruffled my hair laughing.
"Alright, I'll text your mom to buy some meat for both of you. Now, hurry up. Get your things in your room while I get your boxes out of the car and deliver it on your room.
I nodded at him and dragged my bag upstairs and search for my room. The upstairs was just a hallway with 5 bedrooms. I saw Max's door, it was a brown door and it just had Max on it in cursive form. Beside it was my door. Maybe one was my mom and dad's bedroom and then the other two are guestrooms.
I opened my door and silently judged the whole design of the room. It had a bed in the center. Big enough for me. A study table on its side with shelf on its top. The room has a pastel color which will make you breathe easier. Though I wish for a black-colored bedroom.
I noticed there were a couple of doors so I decided to look at what's inside.
"No way." I uttered in disbelief. It's a walk-in closet. I mean it's not that big but I never had one in my entire life so it's cool to have one.
I took a look at what's on the other side of the other door, it was a cute bathroom.
"OMG! Best room I've ever had!" I exclaimed as I jumped into my bed.
Dad knocked on my door putting down several boxes that contained books and other materials and some other bags.
"So, Gust is still with you." Dad said
"Yep. He's a tough one." I said while looking at my guitar.
"He should be..." He warned and I smiled sheepishly at him.
You see, I've kinda broke my previous guitars before but Dad had been buying me again and again, thought it'll be an endless cycle but tables were turned when he said that if he'll buy me Gust ans broke him, he'll be my last guitar.
When I finished arranging a quarter of my things (coz I have lots of em), Mom had already come home so we had to go downstairs and welcome her.
"Momma!" Max shouted and literally jump at her.
"Mom." I smiled and hugged her after Max stood on her feet.
"My lovely angels! I'm terribly sorry I couldn't come to the airport earlier. I was at work."
"It's okay, Mom. We're just glad that Dad had his off today." I answered and she kissed the top of our heads.
You see, when you have both of your parents working, the time is just divided between you (the kids) and work. But don't worry, you'll get used to it.
"So, ready for your day tomorrow guys?" Dad asked us as we gathered in the kitchen island and Mom was working on her dish. God knows what she is cooking or if it is edible enough. Well, they lived here in L.A. for almost 20 years already so maybe Mom makes an edible food.
"So soon?" Max said munching on the loaf bread she saw on the table. Bread is her staple food so let her be😂
"Aww, don't worry Max. No one will mess with you." I joked and she glared at me.
After Mom cooked her dish, I already ate dinner. Went to my room after washing the dishes.
"Hey, Kelsey." Max said popping her head inside my room. I looked up to her and she had those wondering eyes.
"What's up?" I asked and she jumped into my bed
"Are you okay with all of this?" She asked
"What do you mean?"
"All of this moving and immigration. I mean, all your friends are in the Philippines, especially Charles."
"Charles and I are done. Before we even moved here. Plus, don't you want this? To be with Mom and Dad? After all, we both grew up with them being away from us." I explained to her.
"I feel awkward with them around." She admitted.
"Maxine, you'll get used to it. Don't worry." I said and nudged her
"Alright, alright. I'll be going to my room now." She said laughing.
I looked over to the foreign room. This is my life now. No Charles, no Mellody, no bad vibes... As of now.
I turned my bedside table off and slept.
