The new student joins hogwarts in the 3rd year. She is the same age as Harry, Ron, Hermione and Draco. But for some reason, Draco has a special liking to her.

"Hey, where is Harry?" You asked as you looked around the crowd where all the students were, unable to find Harry. "Oh, Mrs. McGonagall said he can't come because nobody signed his permit," Hermione explained, giving you a sad smile.
"Oh, damn. That's stupid and harsh. McGonagall knows Harry's parents died a long time ago. Can't Dumbledore sign it instead?" You asked, holding your bag that was hanging from your shoulder. "No, he is not his legal guardian," Ron replied instead.
You nodded softly, scoffing when someone bumped into your shoulder harshly, making you hiss when your bag fell off your shoulder and onto the ground. "Hey! Look where you are going!" You exclaimed, widening your eyes when Draco turned to face you, being the one who bumped into you.
"Oh, it's Y/n. The mudblood's friend." He said, his friends laughing along with some other Slytherins. "Where is Pottah to protect you? Oh, I guess he isn't coming because mommy and daddy couldn't sign his permit." You were about to hurt him but Hermione grabbed your arm, holding herself back as well.
"Leave him me. He is just trying to find a reason to mess with you." She said quietly into your ear when she leaned closer. "Move on, Malfoy." You spat back, Snape instantly coming between you two. "Malfoy, Y/n, enough," Snape said slowly, sparing a very serious glance at you two.
You nodded and apologized, while Draco turned around and left, leaving you and Snape alone. "I'll keep an eye on you two. Don't think I didn't see the spells you cast on him yesterday, Y/L." He said quietly to you.
You widened your eyes and watched Snape walk away, the students beginning to head outside the school. "He saw what happened yesterday between you and Malfoy? How is that even possible? I didn't see him anywhere!" Hermione said, completely shocked that Snape knew about your little fight with Malfoy.
"Isn't it quite fishy? He was nowhere. What if Malfoy told him?" Ron asked, glancing at you as you scoffed, glaring at Draco's back. "Of course, it makes sense. Snape is the head of his house." You replied through gritted teeth.
"Let's just go to Hogsmeade." You sighed.

You walked through one of the paths along the forest, the snowy ground crunching underneath you. "Look, that house looks so old and beautiful," Hermione said to Ron, pointing towards the house. You rubbed your cold hands although you were wearing gloves, turning towards the forest only to see Malfoy walking towards you with Crabbe and Goyle.
"Oh, no. The trouble squad is coming." You whispered, Hermione and Ron, turning towards you and noticing Malfoy there. "Oh, lovebirds, shopping for your future dream home?" Draco said, sharing a chuckle with his friends as they stopped close to you three.
"Shut up, Malfoy," Hermione said. He looked at you and smirked, tucking his hand in his pants' pockets. "What, Y/L? Not brave enough to shoot me another Expelliarmus?" He teased, making you glare at him strongly.
"You are lucky enough they didn't let us bring our wands." You spat back, making him pout fakely. "Oh, poor baby. She is defenseless without her wand." He whined, bursting out laughing.
But soon after, he was interrupted when a snowball shot at him from nothing. You, Hermione, and Ron widened your eyes, looking around to see it was just you three and Malfoy with his two friends.
"What was that? Who is there?" Draco said all scared. "Who is the baby now, Malfoy?" You laughed, watching his whimper when another snowball hit him. Crabbe's pants were pulled down when he tried to run away while Goyle's hat moved down, covering his face.
Draco tried running away but he was thrown to the ground and dragged through the snow by nothing, something invisible. You, Hermione, and Ron were laughing your asses off, watching the whole scene develop.
"Ahhh!!" Draco screamed, finally being let go. He stumbled to his feet, sliding and falling as he tried to run away as fast. "Get out of my way!!" He screamed when he crashed onto Crabbe, pushing him on the ground again.
He only cared about running away and saving himself while his friends tried to catch up to him. "That was so good. Yeah! Run away, babies! Very brave of you!" You teased, watching them as they disappeared into the forest.
Hermione let go of your shoulders where she was holding to not fall over while laughing. Ron whimpered softly, not laughing anymore when the strands of his hat moved up and down.
Your hair was ruffled while Hermione's scarf was tightened. You giggled along with Hermione as she shook her head. "Harry~," She said, Harry soon appearing after taking the cloak of invisibility off.
"Harry, don't do that to me. It scared me." Ron whined, making you chuckle. You hugged Harry, glad he had made it. "Thank you, Harry. You saved us from that idiot." You said. He ruffled your hair, hugging the three of you sideways.
"Of course. I couldn't stand that idiot making fun of you and insulting you. What you did to him the other day was what he deserved." He said. He pulled away and you began walking back to Hogsmeade after taking his cloak.
"Won't you be in trouble if McGonagall or Snape sees you?" Hermione asked Harry, clearly worried about what could happen if he was caught with them, ignoring the rules to stay at Hogwarts for his own safety.
"McGonagall did say that it wasn't safe for me to leave Hogwarts after knowing Dementors can attack me and that Sirius Black is after me." Harry sighed. "But I can't just stay locked up there. I want to have fun with my friends." He said, smiling at you.
You looked at him and smiled back, patting his shoulder.
"You have us, Harry. If anything happens, I will do anything to keep you safe. Even if it means getting hurt instead of you."
