You stirred into consciousness as you laid on the warm bed. When you opened your eyes, all you could see was darkness.

A few lanterns were on, illuminating the dark hallways and hospital wing. You sighed softly, sitting up weakly and drinking some water from the cup Miss Pomphrey had left for you.

After drinking some of the water, you looked around to see Draco laying on the bed beside yours.

Your eyes widened as you saw him unconscious, most likely asleep, on the bed. "Draco?" You muttered, letting your legs hang off the side of the bed.

With a sigh, you tried to get up but your legs gave out until strong arms grabbed you and held you up.

You looked to the side to see it was Draco who had helped you up. "Draco." You said in shock, sitting down on your bed.

"Why are you here as well? What happened?" You asked. Your mind was blurry and you couldn't remember what happened.

You do remember it had something to do with the necklace, your hand quickly flying up to your neck to feel the mark it had left on your skin.

You saw Draco was rubbing the palm of his hand, noticing a dark red bruise there. "What is that?" You asked, taking his hand in your and pulling it to you.

The same snake mark was there, the S on the snake. "God. You too?" You said. Then you remembered. Severus' conversations with your mother.

He mentioned you and Draco had to go through something together. That you had no choice. "I saw it too, Y/n..." He muttered quietly, pulling his hand back.

You stared at him in confusion, scoffing softly. "But, how? I was the one holding the necklace and looking into the light-" He cut you off.

"I looked into it as well. Everyone else covered their eyes." He said. "How did the Petrificus Totalus not affect you then?" You asked back.

"I don't know. I think I managed to get out of it before it affected me. I only remember a woman and Professor Snape." He explained.

You turned to your side, hugging your legs close to you. "That was my mother." You mumbled. "What was your mother doing there with Snape?" Draco asked.

"I'm in all this mess because of you! If I hadn't met you-" You cut him off. "Because of me?! We are BOTH in this mess! We were both chosen for this!" You exclaimed back, pointing at yourself and him.

"Even if we hadn't met, sooner or later, this necklace would have brought us together." You said, glaring at him before looking to the side.

You sighed, tears clouding your eyes as you stared at the necklace that was on the table in front of your bed. "My mother... She knows something and she kept it from me... your father knows something too." You said, looking at him.

"I'm s-scared, Draco." You stuttered, sobbing softly. You closed your eyes, lowering your head while moving to lay with your back to him.

"W-We should r-rest. We've still got classes tomorrow." You said.

The next morning, you woke up with dry eyes, the sun shining on your face. A shadow was cast above you, blocking the sun from blinding you as you heard hurried whispers and shuffling around your bed.

"Shh! She is about to wake up!" You heard Ginny say. You finally opened your eyes slowly to see Ginny, Fred, and George there. "Guys, hey." You said.

You sat up with George's help, smiling at him softly as a thank you. "Where's-?" "They had class, they will come as soon as possible after they are done." Ginny cut you off.

You looked to the side to see Draco's bed was empty and fixed as if nobody was there at all. You wondered if you simply dreamed that he was there, shrugging the thought off.

"Do you know where Professor Snape is?" You asked, looking at the three of them. "He might be teaching Potions right now," Fred said. "Why?" George asked after. "I need to speak to him. It has to do with the necklace." You said, pointing at where the necklace is.

"The necklace!" You exclaimed, seeing the necklace was not on the table it was on. You got hurriedly off the bed, beginning to search it among the sheets by your feet and on the ground but it was completely gone.

You growled softly, glaring towards the doors of the hospital wing. "Malfoy!" You exclaimed in anger. As you hurried off, Ginny and the twins hurried after you, calling your name to make you stop since you were still a bit weak.

You kept walking though, you wanted to find Draco, that scowling, disgusting Malfoy. You made your way to the Slytherin common room but you stopped short at the door to potions class, seeing Snape and Draco in there.

Ginny and the twins bumped into you, about to say something but you gestured them to stay quiet, wanting to listen in to the conversation.

"Professor. This necklace. What is it?"

"A sign to obey the lord."

"The lord? What lord? What do Y/n and I have to do with the said lord?"

"Your parents and Y/n's mother worked for the dark lord. They are his most trusted followers and you being their kids make you his loyal followers as well."

You widened your eyes at the Professor's words, stumbling back as you felt your legs want to give out. Fred was quick enough to catch you though, quickly leaving before they catch you all eavesdropping.

You all headed in a hurry to the Great Hall, able to walk by yourself about halfway of the trip there.

When you sat down, you leaned your face in your hands, staring down at the table in shock.

"M-My mother..." You stuttered. "She works for You-know-who." You whispered. You looked up at Fred, George, and Ginny who were looking at you with pity.

"Don't you hate me? Aren't you afraid?" You asked, staring at them.

"You are our friend. You have helped Harry and stood up for Hermione and us. Nothing can come between our friendship." Fred said, George nodding along.

"Not even the dark lord himself," Ginny said.
