The new student joins hogwarts in the 3rd year. She is the same age as Harry, Ron, Hermione and Draco. But for some reason, Draco has a special liking to her.

You sniffled softly, looking behind you to see Draco there. You rolled your eyes and looked back down at your hands that were resting on your lap. "If you are here to make fun of me, leave. I have my wand this time." You warned quietly.
You heard some footsteps behind you, thinking he had left but you looked at him with furrowed eyebrows, watching him sit down beside you on the bench. "Last time I saw you cry, I left. This time, I'm staying." He said.
You looked at the ground with a sigh, tears continuing to fall down your cheeks. "I'm just tired, Draco. I came here with the hope that I would run away from what my home is like. Dark and lonely." You muttered.
"I came here and the first thing that happens is that someone is after Harry. Someone from Azkaban. And it can hurt us too as well. Then we find out the true meaning of the necklace and now I think something is going on between my mother and Professor Snape because h-he is too c-caring towards m-me and Y-You-Know-Who is a-after us a-and-"
You cut yourself as heavier sobs began leaving you. You felt Draco's arms wrap around you hesitantly, hugging you closer. You snuggled into his chest and closed your eyes, at that, Draco tightened his hug, knowing it wasn't uncomfortable for you.
"We only have each other, Y/n. We know what is going on and we are the only ones to stand beside each other." He whispered in your ear, making you bite your lip.
You continued sobbing softly, gripping his robe and sniffling.

You and Draco walked outside the castle, quietly walking side by side. He looked at the passing trees while you stared at the ground. Your mind was full of thoughts about him, questions you wanted the answers to.
The small crying session made you feel way better now and you were thankful Draco was there, although you didn't think he had it in him to comfort someone at all.
You turned to him out of nowhere, halting your movement and stopping him as well. "Why did you save me? When we were at the Shrieking Shack. You threw an Expelliarmus at me and pushed me out of the way so Professor Lupin wouldn't hurt me." You asked.
"I saw you there and I couldn't just let you get hurt. I'm sure that if you saw me in that situation, you would do the same." He replied simply, staring at you unamused with his hands on his pants pockets.
"What were you doing there though? It was night, everyone was supposed to be in their common rooms sleeping." You asked again.
He sighed softly. "I had a lot in my mind and I wanted to get some fresh air so I snuck out of the common room and took a walk along the forest until I heard all the commotion." He replied.
"Draco..." You said softly. You stared at him for a while as he stared back. He pulled his hands out of his pockets and let them hang freely by his sides.
He slowly started moving closer to you, causing you to gulp nervously. He stood very close to you, looking down at your hands.
You looked down as well, unable to hold back a small smile when he took your hand in his sweetly, caressing it.
"I did it because I didn't want you to get hurt." He whispered. He kept staring at your hand, where he was caressing the top of your palm with his thumb.
You looked up at his, his blue eyes slowly looking up into your eyes as well. You leaned in slowly, placing a sweet kiss on his cheek and pulling away.
"Thank you." You watched him stand there slightly unamused, but you knew that on the inside he was freaking out.
He stared into your eyes for a while before pulling away, his hand not wanting to pull away from yours.
"W-We should um... head back to the castle." He stuttered at the beginning, clearing his throat to hide that he was nervous.
You smiled shyly and blushed, nodding your head. "Yeah, we should..." You said, beginning to walk back to the castle with him by your side.
As you reached the castle's grounds, you looked around in confusion at all the ruckus everyone was making, whispering and talking about stuff.
Everyone slowly started to quiet down when you started heading into the Great Hall, the stares and looks everyone was giving you.
You and Draco shared a glance, turning towards the middle of the room where you saw Dumbledore standing with a woman.
Your mother.
You smiled widely when you saw her, quickly running towards her and hugging her tightly when she saw you and opened her arms.
"My baby girl. My sweet little child." She whispered, caressing your hair and back while holding you tightly. You had closed your eyes while someone headed up to you, turning to see it was Draco.
"Miss Y/L," Draco said politely.
"Mister Malfoy. It is so nice to meet you finally. Your father has told me great things about you." Amelia said, smiling at Draco after she pulled away from your hug.
She caressed his cheek sweetly. "Your mother and I were the best of friends while we were in Hogwarts." She said, looking at you.
"Okay, everyone. Enough with the stares, back to your homework and dinner." Dumbledore called out, everyone doing as told.
Some still kept an eye on you, especially your friends. The Weasley twins, Ginny, Ron, Hermione, and Harry were looking at you with a very sad look.
"Why is everyone looking at me like that?" You asked when you turned to Dumbledore.
"Yes, it makes me uncomfortable as well although I enjoy the attention," Draco said, receiving a slap on the back of the head by Snape who you didn't even notice was behind you and Draco.
"Miss Y/n. Your mother and I have concluded that you should head back home earlier." Dumbledore said.
Your eyes widened, glancing at Draco, your mother, and back at Dumbledore. "But I have still got a quarter of the semester left, I-" You was cut off by your mother's hand taking yours.
"It's for your safety, Y/n." She said.
"It is for your safety and the students, dear Y/n. You will be able to return next year." Dumbledore said.
