Chapter Eleven: Hers To Know
We were sitting by a pond, Lycan and I had found on our run, blankly staring at the moons reflection in the water when we had shuffling in the woods behind us. Lycan was quick to assume a defensive stance when Lucreasia’s honey brown wolf pranced in.
We went back to our original position of watching the moon and ignoring the world we live in when her wolf sat beside us. For moments we sat in a comfortable silence till she linked, “You’re so strong Blair”.
“Me, strong. I don’t think so. At least not anymore”, I linked back. “My mate found me when I was fifteen, he was cruel, relentless when he had a need and plain evil. I ran to this pack looking for a death wish. That’s why I killed all those wolves, so that your pack would be given a reason to kill me. I couldn’t live with being a rogue. I could live with being his mate. It was the coward’s way out”, she said.
“Sorry to hear that Lucreasia but I loved being rogue. I loved being you, right now I’d give anything to go back to that. To when I had a reason to fight”, I said.
“Blair trust me, you have a reason to fight even when you think you don't even when the world throughs on you the biggest most ugly mongosse it can find”, she said.
“That reminds me DeVil said hi”, I said and could see the horror in her eyes, “He was my mate”, she whispered then looked at me, “I’m sorry for what ever happened to you. It’s all my fault. I should have stayed on that path and now I’ve messed up your whole life. He still haunts me you know”, Lucreasia said emotions flowing freely from her voice.
“I wouldn’t change a thing. You found alpha Ramirez didn’t you. A second chance mate is special. We both have lived lives that we don’t deserve and I killed that son of a mongoose so you have nothing to be worried about”, I told her.
“See Blair that’s why I said you’re strong I just thought you should know, looks like you’ve forgotten that Lycan and you are stronger than some alpha’s I know”, Lucreasia said.
I shifted back to human form and dove into the river when I resurfaced I found Lucreasia had also shifted back and found us over sized shirts, “Chrisshiano’s My Mate. Mine! And he doesn’t want me”, I said.
“You helped me solve the problem of my mate, let me help you forget yours. Dammit Blair you rejected him, he didn’t rejected you. You’re pack we’ll love you again. Your family is waiting downstairs and Chrisshiano is just a big baby with a lot of power he doesn’t understand. So stop sulking wake Lycan up and live your life. You never know there’s someone better waiting for you”, she said I got out of the water ad slid the shirt on.
‘I don’t want anyone else’, Lycan said, “I’m strong enough to live with half a life and no other half of me we’ll ever take away my stride though I’m incomplete without him. My strength is whole. I won’t let him break us”, I said.
“Come on, Becky’s here for the weekend and my days of living through her insufferable nagging alone are over”, Lucreasia said throwing her arm over her shoulder and pulling me along. “Thanks Lucreasia for being a sister to her when I wasn’t around and thanks for reminding me of me”, I said.
“We’re basically replicas of each other no problem plus in a way you gave me a home and a family and I want you in it. I’m not promising that I’m not going to be a nasty bitch with rude comments because I literally can help myself. I promise to be here for you. Always”, she said.
“Forever?” I asked.
“Forever”, Lucreasia answered.
“Forever”, Lycan confirmed.
“Forever!” Fire, Lucreasia’s wolf, excitedly let out and we all laughed.
That night I went home to my brother’s room with my pregnant little sister, my loving mother, my new ‘twin sister’ who was the good kind of bitchy and just talked, laughed, through pillows at each other and lived.
We lived like we didn’t need anybody else, we lived for us. That night was the first of many.
