Chapter Twenty One: Hers To Call

I did it. I completely managed to ruin myself. I should be more surprised but I knew this was coming and the worst part is I don’t think my story has even began yet.

I walked for what seemed like forever, the air was cold and everything was silent seeing as it was four in the morning. The wetness of the tears I’d cried clung frozen as I moved through the land I called home while having nowhere to go. I realised I needed to leave. I needed to find myself.

Knocking on their door at this time, I knew they’d let me in without second thought. I really did have the best friends. Silent Bob opened the door, looking like it’s been a rough night. “Little Miss?” he said and I just broke down in tears again and pulled me into a hug closing the door behind us.

“Blair what happened?” Averi said coming from one of the rooms and hugging me as well. After letting out more tears I sobered up and let Averi show me to one of their guest rooms. I told her everything that happened to say she was stunned would be an understatement.

“I don’t believe Chrisshiano would do this, after you left he became cold to the rest of us. We tried to stay friends with him but he kept pushing as away and after what Jenna did to Noni, Banner couldn’t forgive him and frankly neither could the rest of us when he defended Jenna and Harris”, Averi said.

“Wait what did Harris do?” I asked. “He tried to get in on with Noni using his body or mind manipulation thing, I can’t tell which is which”, she said.

“What?” I asked. “The way Noni explained it, she said her body gave in to him but she didn’t want any of it. Luckily she was in love with Banner and knew she didn’t want Harris so she managed to fight him off. Chrisshiano as the idiot he is believed Harris when he called it a drunk hook up”, Averi said she even dared to shrug like it was nothing, then again this could be normal to them.

“A lot has happened in the past five years, hasn’t it?” I asked already knowing the answer. “You have no idea”, Averi said.

“Babes I think he’s hungry”, silent Bob walked in holding, a baby. I looked at Averi who wasn’t pregnant anymore, hell she looked like she’d never been pregnant before. “I’m such a bad friend I didn’t even notice your belly’s not swollen anymore, I wasn’t even there when you gave birth congratulations though”, I rush out.

“No one knows yet, I don’t even think Alpha knows, I gave birth yesterday it was all rushed. Only the doctor, Bob and Tesoro where there at birth, Noni and Banner wanted to be there but Noni swore never to return to red eclipse I don’t blame her after all that happened. Where planning to go to gold wolf soon anyway and surprise them”, Averi said taking her son into her arms.

“What did happen?” I asked Noni was never really one to hold a grudge. “Jenna tried to kill Noni and Odes”, Averi said and she started feeding her baby. “That she bitch, wait what’s an Odes”, I asked. “Another long story” is all Averi said with a sigh.

“I need to get a day and hear it all”, I said. “Yah you really do, we all missed you a lot little miss and now you’re here and we’re still missing you”, Averi said. I knew what she meant even I don’t feel back, for some reason my pack doesn’t feel like home anymore.

“I really missed you too”, I say. “Do you want to hold him?” Averi said with a bright smile on her face as she looks at her son lovingly. “Okay”, I say and Averi brings her son carefully placing him in my arms. “What’s his name?” I say. I could never get over the feeling of holding a new born in your arms. It felt right knowing how pure and innocent to the world we all once were.

“Night Amaya Serrano”, Averi said. “Why Night?” I asked looking at a now smirk smiling Averi who held a fondness in her heart. “In case he turns out to be a mini Bob, his friends can call him Silent Night”, Averi said already planning years ahead. “Sounds like you picked it”, I say chuckling and her face turns into a serious one.

“Well of course I did, I couldn’t trust Bob all he suggest was adding junior to his name so it would be Bob Jr, Tesoro suggested Chunkalicious like what does that even mean, then there was Banner who also suggested Banner Jr. but the worst one of them all was Noni like hell I’m going to name my baby Pizza. To top it all off they were all serious”, Averi says and all I could do was hold back laughs, she was so enraged but it was funny.

“You should get some rest and stay as long as you want”, she finally says taking Night from me who fell asleep my arms.

“Thanks Avi”, I told her. She helped me forget about you know how. Made me laugh and told me stuff about our friends. “We look out for each other, you would have done the same thing for any of us”, she said before she left the room and I willed myself to sleep even though the memories of him wouldn’t allow me.

The next morning, I said my goodbyes to Averi, Bob and little Night. Here’s something I never thought I’d say I miss being in high school with my friends I wish I could go back and tell past Blair enjoy it while it lasts sweetheart.

When I left I really had nowhere else to go, couldn’t go to the pack house because he who shall forever be referred to as ‘that writhing little fucker’ is there. Can’t go back to Harris’ place because apparently his a creepy creeper.

I only had one option left so I mind linked Lucreasia to bring Maddie and the bag I left in her room after watching the forever haunting wolfie styling episode. She did no questions asked which was surprising since she likes to be nosy.

I told her I was leaving Red Eclipse, she actually looked sad though she did say, “Oh well see yah bitch, finally only one of me” before shifting into Fire and running off.

I got into Maddie and drove past the park border into unknown territory. It then hit me, am all alone.

That alone where you know there’s people who still care about you but there’s this gaping hole in your heart that you have no idea how to feel. When you don’t feel comfortable with yourself. When there’s not a single person next to you but you still keep running away from yourself. The true meaning of loneliness. The loneliness that shatters you.

Looking at his name on the little burner phone, I’d never been so anxious to just hit call in my life. My nerves where shaking for some reason as I finally pressed the little button. Each ring chipping at my soul till he picked up.
