Chapter Thirty: Hers To Hold

I was restless the whole drive back to the gustily pack. Fazirya's rage had simmered and she was okay. As okay as she could be anyway.

I knew seeing her mate again five years after she was dejected is the reason why we had to leave the royal crimson pack in such a hurry. I tried to keep my mind from wondering back to Orobeau but whoever I asked seemed to be oblivious to her.

I should give up on looking for her but she seemed too real to not have existed.

I was starting to doubt my sanity especially since Lycan seemed to have forgotten her as well, but I know her face, I know her voice, I know her scent and manifestations of an imagination aren't meant to have a scent.

Something was wrong and it seemed like I was growing further and further from finding out why.

I felt more relaxed once we were back on pack lands. The minute I stepped foot out my Jeep, I was pulled into Rohan's arms as he held onto me with all the life in him. Squeezing the breath out of me, with his dangerously perfect muscles.

Gosh, I missed him.

"Thank Goddess you're home, I missed you", he says through chuckles as he twirls us around. Fazirya walked by smacked him in the head and he finally let stand on my own feet. "I missed you too", I giggled. "I didn't", Fazirya yelled as she dragged her bags inside.

Rohan helped me with mine and after a steamy bath. Washing the blonde dye out of my chestnut brown hair and getting those stupid irritating green contacts out of my eyes. I was finally back to just being Blair Montanelli, average hella confused about everything Blair.

"Goodbye Aura Winston", I said as I throw the wig into the trash can, "Sadly you, won't be missed" I jumped in bed and cuddled with Rohan while telling him all about the whole trip.

"Why didn't you tell me about DeVil, I don't remember any of it", I asked.

"But I did", Rohan abruptly stopped drawing circles on my arm and sat up, pulling me along with him.

"One moment it was all you could think about it was like you were obsessed with proving it wasn't just a dream and the next it's like none of it ever happened, I was just glad you were acting like your old self again because you were going past the border line of crazy"

"When I mentioned it you seemed like you'd completely forgotten what happened the whole year, I didn't say anything again because I didn't want to trigger whatever was going on again, I'm sorry", he said.

"It's okay, it's not like you were going to put me down", I teased but Rohan's face morphed into a bemused one as she smiled sheepishly as her looked back at me and my jaw dropped, "You thought about it, didn't you", I laughed as I grabbed a pillow and hit him in the face.

"If I had too", Rohan chuckled, "I'd do anything when it comes to you"

Fuck.

Come on, Blair you can do this. Just rip the bandage off. He won't care that much will him. But it's Rohan of course he'll care. I thinking caring was purely encoded into his DNA. "Just tell him, listening to you fight with yourself is painful", Lycan sighed.

"Blair?"

"I'm thinking about going back to Red Eclipse in a few days", there I said it and braced myself for the outcome. I closed my eyes and feigned flinching back waiting for a response when I heard, "I'm coming with you", Rohan says.

"Fazirya needs you here", I sigh. I love the thought of Rohan and I always being in the same pack so that we wouldn't have to be apart but he's a gustily and I'll always be part of Red Eclipse. To be honest the even the mere thought of Rohan and Mars in the same back lands, before he go about being in the same room scars me half to death and I survived the frigging Rogue War.

"Fazirya is a badass boss bitch who doesn't depend on anyone or anything, she'll be fine", Rohan dragged out. "She saw her mate again", I finally revealed. "At the royal crimson pack, she told me not to tell but you're her brother. I think she'd want you to know"

"Fuck", Rohan grunted as he processed the information. "He's the Royal Beta", I added and his jaw clenched as he quietly seethed in anger. And an angry Rohan was never good, he wasn't called Murdrogue for no reason. He was dangerously overprotective of me when we'd just met but this is his little sister.

"Change of plans", he deadpanned, "I'm going to go to the Royal Crimson pack, kill that Beta Bitch then come to Red Eclipse with you"

"But..."

"She's fine, Blair", he sighed as he released his fists and calmed down. "When it comes to mates trust me she's not", I whispered. "Really Blair?" Rohan stressed before stomping out of my room.

"Rohan, wait" I didn't mean it like that.

I didn't mean to remind you that the girl you love can't choose between you and her soulmate even when she knows that you're the safest choice for her but you can't possibly know how torn she feels choosing between her heart and her future simply because you haven't met your soulmate and she possibly doesn't exist, at least not anymore.

I spent the rest of the day binging Never Have I Ever to distract myself from my thoughts. It helped kind of. As night fell, I got a bit hungry so I made a sandwich. And as I was wandering through the halls, I heard stuff clutter in one of the rooms.

We were in the pack house, but the floor I was on was reserved specifically for the alpha family. So I figured why not check it out. I had to talk to both Rohan and Fazirya anyway so I'd be fine if it was either of them.

But when I pushed the ajar door slightly more open, it was empty. In the room were two twin beds. The ugliest pink and yellow wallpaper I'd ever seen and a wall filled with pictures. They all seemed so happy, Noni, Rohan, Fazirya, the Kinslens and she who shall forever be hated.

"This was our room, Noni and I", Jenna appeared out of nowhere saying. "Fazirya would always sneak in and we'd join our beds to have a sleepover. I always insisted on slipping in the middle", she said.

"You've always liked being the center of attention", I taunted. "Because you kept stealing the spotlight", she replied sending me a nasty glare to which I just rolled my eyes.

"What are you doing here Jena?"

"I told you, it's my room", she said as she trailed her fingers along the trinkets here and there. "She never even changed a thing", Jenna hummed to herself. I was so over her, I decided to be the bigger person and just let her be so I moved to go back to my room but stopped in my tracks when I heard, "You stole my life, Blair"

"Jenna", Fazirya's confused voice echoed through the room as she entered it in her satin red silk night dress. "I was just leaving", Jenna said and waltzed out.

"Now I'm going to take yours", I heard her whisper as she walked down the halls. An arm on my shoulder stopped me from going after her. "It's not worth it", Fazirya said.

"What I don't get is why she's allowed to just walk over everyone like she owns everything"

"My mum and dad promised that Jenna would always be welcome here but I cut her off after she tried to kill Noni and Odes, it's still her room and I can't change that", Fazirya said sadly, "She was our best friend"

I looked around the room till my eyes fell onto a book tucked away in one of the shelves. It had a black suede cover and a picture of brown grizzly bear engraved in the middle.

"This is one of Orso's journal how did it get here", I asked. "Oh Noni and Orso were friend maybe he gave it to her", Fazirya shrugged not knowing how important the little notebook was to me, I didn't even no Noni till after Orso died. I made a mental note to ask her about it.

"So you're going back to red eclipse", Fazirya asked, well mentioned. "Yeah, I really like staying here but..."

"I get it, it's your package and you're not just a pack warrior, you're their rightful Luna, I'm just going to miss you", Fazirya gushed pulling me into a hug. "I'm not gone yet", I giggled hugging her back.
