~time skip~Your POV
The next few days seemed to fly by. It was now our last night at the training camp with only tomorrow morning left for one last practice. I've been avoiding Tsukki since the night I yelled at him, there's this awkward tension between us. However I have noticed that he's been trying more than usual in training recently, maybe my words got through to him after all.
It was getting rather late. The majority of players had already left to go eat dinner. However Kageyama was still going at it. I decided to stay behind too, to observe what he was up to. He had five water bottles lined up along the ground that were acting as targets. He was trying to knock them over using the falling set. Yachi also stayed behind to throw curve balls for him. She's been working with him and Hinata all week. She's been nothing but stressed and worried about them ever since their big fight. That's what I loved about Yachi, she was genuinely the most caring and empathetic person I knew. She threw a ball up into the air, Kageyama tried to pull off the falling set but it missed the bottle.
"Damn it, send me up another one." he ordered. Yachi did as she was told. He missed it over and over and over again. I could see the frustration on his face.
"Hmmm maybe you're more of a visual learner." I voiced. Kageyama and Yachi looked at me with a confused expression pasted on their faces. "Kags why don't you try imagining the spiker before you set the ball. Try to picture it in your head." I suggested.
"Huh, Imagine the spiker." Kageyama repeated as if he was trying to comprehend what I meant.
"Ok here comes the next one" Yachi called before throwing the ball high up into the air. Kageyama appeared to be deep in concentration. I hope this works I thought. He set the ball over to the farthest slot. The ball travelled at great speed before spinning and stopping in mid air. It floated there just long enough for a spiker to hit. It fell straight down landing right on top of the bottle, knocking it over.
"Ahhhhhhhh" Yachi and I screeched in celebration. Kageyama was secretly overjoyed too but he kept it well hidden. He attempted it one more time just to ensure that the first one wasn't a fluke. The ball landed down on the bottle again. "Yesss" he fist pumped the air.
"Right I think we should call it a night now or you'll be wrecked tomorrow." I proclaimed.
"Yeah yeah alright." Kageyama agreed. He walked Yachi and I back to our room.
"You don't have to walk us back yanno." I told him.
"I'm repaying the favour." He mumbled.
"Huh what favour ?" Yachi was puzzled. I didn't want to tell her I had walked Kageyama home incase she got any crazy ideas like Saeko and Hinata. Kageyama didn't seem to want to tell her either.
"Oh eh it's nothing really." I convinced her. We arrived at the door of our room. Yachi went in ahead of me but before I could follow her in Kageyama grabbed my wrist and spun me around to face him. Our faces were inches apart. Once he realised just how close we were he blushed before taking a step back. He rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.
"I uhh just wanted to say that you were right." He murmured.
"Right about what ?" I asked.
"About me babying Hinata. I get it now, we both cant grow if we don't learn to fight on our own." He admitted. "Thank you for helping me out back there too with the falling set." He said with a small smile. Kageyama smiling did I see that right I did a double take.
"Oh eh well I'm here to help in anyway I can." I replied. "Hey you know you should smile more, you'd seem a lot less intimidating." I teased. Kageyama was unaware that he had been smiling at me, he immediately returned to his poker like expression.
