And then the rest ran, like eagles soaring across the azure sky. Like the prey of a forest or a herd of cheetahs racing through the fields. The twenty-three of them were running, to where is unknown; just away, away from the CIA.

Hearts thrashing, pounding, begging to be freed. Heads spinning, lungs bursting as they pushed their legs harder, awaiting the relief of their bed. Each muscle desired for relaxation. The body's ability to feel the wounds and injuries received decreased and all that clouded their mind was fleeing.

Something bothered Jiyeon, maybe it was the numerous near-death experiences or half the gang captured by the government or the fact she had the chance to escape all this if she just went with the CIA, explain her situation and live her life, away from gang activities, weapons and casualties.

But something in her wanted her to retreat with the rest of them, perhaps it was the protection she felt with them considering what happened with Tonia and her or it could be the trust and bond she created with a few of them, whatever the answer was, now was not the time to figure it out.

The quicker she ran, the more she couldn't breathe, her lungs practically pleaded for mercy, but she could not halt.

For they were behind them. The footsteps getting closer, she could hear them which only increased her speed, she forced her aching muscles forward in order to continue running, trying to force her insubordinate legs to operate but they were faltering. The warmth of them getting closer made her heart drop. They were onto them and sooner or later they will be caught.

The agents had weapons but there was no point on firing as it was useless, receiving a clear shot while on the run was unlikely to happen. There were only two of them but with the countless gang members running, some of them had the thought it was the agents and not their family.

Two guns are fired. The footsteps stopped. The thud of bodies not far from her was perceived. Unaware of her pace slowing down, panic trembled in her jarring limbs, her lungs and heart banged against her rib cage.

"They are down" a familiar voice spoke and Jiyeon sighed in relief, thinking the two were the gang members and not the agents.

But why did she sigh in relief? She didn't even know half of them yet cared for them, possibly was for the past she had with them. Speaking of the past, the more gang activities she did, the more pieces of the puzzle were found it'll only be a matter of time before the puzzle is complete.

The wounds dispersed around the body of Chan was treated by the girl. Debriding any lifeless tissue, cleaning out any unfamiliar substance, using a sterilising agent - hydrogen peroxide which then begins to bubble, it is frothy and fizzy on the stomach of the male which was all done by Jiyeon. She stitched up the opened wounds before covering it was a sterile dressing.

It was peaceful, the silence was like an abyss of sound that was once filled with conversations but now the hollowness of it laid perceived but was never filled.

Silence lingered in the air, thick, heavy, like a blanket, soothing out the roughness of the day Chan had, though the event still dominated his mind.

Chan's train of thoughts was continuously operating, with around half of them not present, maintaining order will be difficult especially with him being the only present leader. He knew they would be sent to a maximum-security prison with no way of communication with the outside world – only adding a cherry on top of his cake of stress.

Jiyeon observed how his expression altered to a livider one. She could practically feel the anger bubble deep in his system, it roiled within, ravenous for destruction. Fires of fury and detestation were smouldering in the eyes of the male as he thought of the pros and cons of various ideas accessible to him for his revenge.

Hesitantly, Jiyeon reached her hand out, it dangled above the male's hand as she rethought her decision. She wanted to comfort him, tell him everything will be okay, that he has her and they will figure a way out of this... together.

However, at the same time she is sort of glad half of them have been sent to where they belong; not like she has a grudge against them, but the rest of the world does with everything committed by them.

They would focus more on getting the rest out rather than getting involved in gang activities that could result in innocent civilians losing their life. The only lives which would be lost are either MG or the CIA but what could she do about it.

Unintentionally a sigh left her mouth as her hand made contact with Chans. His eyes flickered to hers and felt somewhat at ease. Her silence was comforting in a way and spoke for itself; it was serene where he felt at home and no matter what was happening, she was forever there for him.

But was she though? If you think about it, she is a hostage, held here against her will where she got caught up in gang-related doings, her caring for him and his gang was only out of an act of kindness. Unknowingly, he was forming a connection with her and all the thoughts made his stomach drop.

Chan pushed himself upwards using his elbows and forearms for support. He stared at her, more her eyes.

They emitted such warmness, the deep flow of brown that highlighted her pupils, bordered with a forest green shade. When the sun hits at a decent angle, it converts from a luscious, deep chocolate colour to a lighter honey one. The colours whirled together as if it was moss creeping up the bark of a tree, fighting for dominance yet the brown overpowered.

Jiyeon could not help but get captivated in his deep, alluring eyes, they were occupied with mystery concealed inside, anticipating being untold. At first glimpse, you see the beauty the behold but once you gaze into them, you comprehend they are beyond than just 'brown'. The rich earthy soil speckled with the darkness of the night was just the beginning, the colour of hot cocoa drank on a wintry night stained them. They were bottomless seas of emotions that enveloped around her as if it was a blanket, engulfing her into warmth.

She looked away, feeling warm and embarrassed, the man letting out a chuckle at her reaction. A shaky breath was released by the female as her heart skipped a beat.

Jiyeon mentally slapped herself across the face at thought of being caught staring, she began to apply ointment on the bruises. Once the task was complete, she put the items away.

But one thing ran through her mind:

For a man so adept at murdering, his eyes were remarkably soft.

For a man so adept at murdering, his eyes were remarkably soft
