"Shit." Hawks cursed under his breath. He had been looking for Y/N for over an hour. The pain in his stomach was getting worst by the second. He called Satoshi telling him what happened, the chief told him to come back to take care of his injuries while they sent officers to look for her. He refused to come back without Y/N. He continued to fly over buildings searching for her.
He didn't understand. He thought things were going well with her. She even laughed at breakfast and seemed to have a good enough time. He thought that he was finally getting through to her. He racks his brain trying to figure out what set her off.
As he gets to the more dangerous part of the city he can't help but think of the worst things that she could be doing. What if she hurts someone or kills them? They can't afford her to be like this, they need her to bring down The White Rose. The thoughts that maybe she's just a criminal starts to invade Hawks' mind. That maybe she's just an emotionless killer who couldn't care less about the people around her. He thought she'd at least do this for Mizuki, but not even she can be enough to stop the monster that seems to live inside her.
As Hawks lands on a building, letting his doubt get to him, he hears pained sobs and cries. He snapped his head in the direction of a dark alley, his hero instincts kicking in. He flies toward the person, the pain in his stomach no longer there.
But what he saw shocked him.

Y/N had her knees to her chest on the ground, mask thrown beside her. She had her hands over her ears with her face buried in her knees.
She was crying, but it wasn't the type of crying of when your sad.
She was sobbing with strained screams in between. She was shaking uncontrollably and her breathing was uneven. She would try holding in her cries but another pained scream would leave her. She choked on her sobs, struggling to catch her breath. She was hyperventilating as she tangled her hands in her hair and pulling hard.

Hawks' eyes were wide, the emotions that were spilling out of her seemed to glue him to the ground. Her cries rang in his ears as the sight of her burned his chest. It was too much. It made him want to run way without looking back. He never wants to feel like this again.

But he can't imagine how she must feel.
Unlike him , she can't run away from this. She's chained and bound to it.

Without a second thought he ran to her. He knelt in front of her and gently shook her shoulders.

"Y/N? Hey look at me, you're gonna be okay. Y/N look at me." he said with a slight shake in his voice. His face showed of pure worry.

Her eyes shot up to him, they were wide with tears running down from them. She seemed confused and pained, like she wasn't really sure what she was seeing. She shakily reached out her hands to his chest, not sure if he was real. As her hands felt warmth, she grasped him tight and buried her head in his chest. She dug her nails into his clothes as she cried even louder. She was so scared that he was going to leave, that she was going to be alone again.

"Don't leave." she choked out.

Hawks wrapped his arms and wings around her and held her tightly. She was still shaking and sobbing. He dug his face into her hair, letting out a shaky breath of his own.

"I'm not going anywhere." he said over and over again to her. Trying to get her to calm down.

She only cried even more, he could hear the raw fear and pain in her voice. He could never have imagined that she had all of these emotions hidden in her. He held on to her tighter as he whispered comfort words to her.

But it was like she was breaking in his arms.

He needed to get her back to the station. He needed to get her help. He didn't want to see her like this anymore.
He gently unwrapped his right arm from around her and dug into his pocket for a sedative. He was asked to carry one just in case something happened.
