She stood a block from the station. It was already dark since it was 3 in the morning and rain started to fall. The raindrops and her tears dripped down her face. She stared at the gun in her hand.

Was she really going to do it? Was she really going to kill him?

She hates heroes. He didn't save her. He left her to die. So why is this so hard for her? She kills people all the time. Why is he so different?
Memories that they shared passed through her mind. The way he smiled at her, and they way his laugh sounded. She remembers how he would hold her when she was breaking apart. Piece by piece he was fixing her. She could feel her heart start to break at the thought that she didn't mean anything to him. This new emotion made her chest feel heavy. She tightened her hand around the gun. She made up her mind.

She doesn't need him. She doesn't need anyone.

She limped to the station door. Her cuts were still leaking a lot of blood with each step she took. She coughed up some more blood as she got to the door. She opened it with no sound. It was dark, all the night shifts were working on the other side of the building. She was surprised the door was unlocked. Only a dim light was turned on in the entrance. She walked in as she made her way to the apartment. She had a feeling he was there. She left her trail of blood behind her as she stumbled up the stairs. She kept coughing up blood as she got to the door. She had her gun ready in hand as she turned the handle. She walked into the dark apartment, the lightening that flashed through the windows lit up the rooms. She noticed two plates of food on the table, the food was barely touched. She struggled to walk down the hallway and to her room. She saw her door was slightly open. She carefully walked in, trying not to make noise.

There he was. Hawks was snuggled in her bed hugging the same picture of the both of them. He had a distressed look on his sleeping face, like he was having a nightmare. Y/N stared at him as her tears rolled down her cheeks.

She held the gun towards him. Her hand started to shake as she put her finger on the trigger. She closed her eyes as she started to press the trigger, thinking it'll make it easier.

"Fuck." she whimpered out. She opened her eyes to look at him again. She started to notice how he looked. His hair was a mess and his eyes were red and puffy. He looked paler and had dark bags under his eyes. He looked sick. His body flinched at the sound of the thunder. His lip started to quiver as he had furrowed brows.

How could she kill him?

She dropped the gun she had in her hand in fear. It made a loud thump as it fell to the ground. She couldn't believe she was going to kill him. What the hell was she thinking? She hated herself for ever pointing a gun at him.

"Y-Y/N?"

Y/N looked to see Hawks looking at her with wide eyes. He could barely recognize her with the way she looked. Her clothes were torn and she was dripping in blood. She was having a hard time standing as she choked on more of her blood. Hawks jumped from the bed and gently cupped her bloody face in his hands.

"Y/N? Is that you? Fuck, I don't know if this is another nightmare." he cursed as he looked deep into her eyes, tears were running down his face as he tried to get a hold on reality. Y/N could feel him warm touch spread through her body, making the pain lessen. She couldn't look at him without feeling guilty, she felt that she didn't deserve his warmth. She tried to move away, but she felt her self drift out of consciousness from losing to much blood. Her eyes felt heavy as her vision went blurry. All she heard were muffled sounds as everything went dark.

"Y/N?" he called her name. She had a distant look on her face as she collapsed into his chest. Hawks held her up, his mind having trouble understanding what was happening, but he was sure she was real. The feel of her skin on his felt the same.
