Family. What is Family?
Family: a group of one or more parents and their children living together as a unit.
Is that what a family is? Is that all there is? My parents are dead. So does that mean I can't have a family? I remember so clearly when they died. I felt that a chunk of my heart had died with them. I was feeling so empty and hallow. I just wanted to feel that type of love again. The feeling of waking up to have breakfast with my family and talk about the movie we had watched. The feeling that my heart wasn't broken or damaged. That my heart was whole and complete. The times where my only worries were if I was going to be late for my dance recital. I miss knowing that they always had my back. I would never be alone as long as I had them with me.
I've only just met him. Why does it seem like I've known him my whole life. He has the same laugh as Dad. He acts a lot like him too.

"And then he tried to come in through the window, but mom chased him out of the house." Koji laughed out, telling a story of when Kenji tried to give him his birthday present. Y/N and her brother have been sitting and talking on the floor for about an hour. Y/N mostly listened to him and all the stories he had about their father. She thought it would hurt to talk about him, but hearing about from a different perspective peeked her interest. She sat crissed crossed with her eyes full of curiosity as she looked at Koji. It was hard to believe how much he looked like him. He talked about all the times he had with their dad before his mom chased him off. After Koji came down from his laughing fit he looked back at Y/N.
"Sorry for talking so much." he said sheepishly as he rubbed the back of his neck.
"O-Oh no, you're fine. I don't mind." Y/N stuttered out, still a bit nervous with him.
"So how about you? How's it been living here at the station?" he asked, careful to steer clear of her time as a criminal. Y/N turned red as she looked away, not expecting to thrown into the spotlight of attention.
"It's good. It took some time to get used too at first, but it just feels normal now." she said in a low voice, not too sure if she made any sense.
"Well that's good! If you ever need a place to stay once you're out, just give me a call. I'm sure Kumi would love to hang out with you too." he shirped with a closed eyed smile.
"Kumi?" Y/N wondered if this was his girlfriend.
"Oh yea! Kumi is another half sister of mine. She lives a few blocks from me. She's about a year older than you."
"Oh." Y/N didn't really know what to say as she just sat there messing with the hem of her shirt. Koji slightly panicked, not wanting her to get bored or too nervous around him.
"Hey, you want to visit them? I mean, if they let you." he offered with hopeful eyes.
"Visit them? Visit who?" she asked with a confused face.
"You're parents I mean. We can walk to the cemetery, it's not that far from here."
Y/N stared at him. She never once bothered to know where her parents were buried.
"I've never visited them before." she muttered as she looked down.
"Well this can be your first then! They're buried in a more secluded area. They're on a nice hill that overlooks a really nice lake. I'm sure you'll like it. We can buy them flowers too!" he said with a smile plastered on his face. He wanted to get to know her more, he felt that it be easier if they weren't being watched in a police station the whole time.
"Y-yeah, that sounds nice." she said with a soft smile on her face. Koji grinned as they both stood up. Y/N headed to the door and opened it to be met face to face with Hawks.
"Y-Y/N, I was just checking up on you. Everything okay? You want to go back to the apartment? I rented a new movie too watch." he rambled, he was worried about her and honestly just wanted some cuddles."Actually, I was going to take her to visit or dad. I'll bring her back before dark." Koji butted in from behind Y/N. Hawks was taken by surprise, not expecting them to get along so well on the first meet.
"I can come with you. Just in case something happens. No one would bother you if I'm there." he said as more of a statement as he looked at Y/N. Y/N was about to say something, but was cut off by Koji.
"I think we'll be fine. I am her older brother after all, so she'll be fine with me." Koji said with a forced smile on his face.
