If Oswald was truly clever, he would have done this...

Oswald POV

Me and Ed walk down the alley, having just escaped from the Court of Owls.

"Where to?" Ed says quietly, looking around.

"I need to get to a phone and call my friend Ivy. She'll come pick us up."

"By us you mean you, right?"

"No. We're both going back to Ivy's place. Together."

"Fine." Ed says dismissively.

After walking about five blocks we finally find a payphone and I call Ivy.

"Hello, Cobblepot, Pepper, and Plants residence, Pepper speaking." She says sweetly

"Ivy, it's Oswald, I--"

"Oswald! Oh my God! Are you okay?! Where are you? What happened?!" Ivy yells excitedly, cutting me off.

"I'm fine. I got kidnapped by these owl people and was in a birdcage for a few days. But an old friend helped me escape."  I say warmly, shooting a quick glance at Nygma. He looks at me with some sort of emotion that seems... foreign to him.

"Look, just tell me where to pick you up. I'll be right there!" Ivy says happily.

"Corner of northwest 50th street and Narring boulevard."

"Okay, I used to live in that area, I know it pretty well. Just sit tight, I'll be right there." She says sweetly. We both hang up.

35 minutes later she comes driving up in the old beat up car she stole a while back.

"Don't just stand there, Pengy, hop in!" She says sweetly, smiling

"Wait ...Who's that guy?" She asks, poking her head out through the busted out window.

"That's my old friend, Nygma. He helped me escape from the owl people." I explain.

"I remember him. Big gorilla dude strangled him half to death at Siren's. I was there, I wanted to mess with Selina a little more before I told her who I was." Ivy says, her childish demeanor shining bright like a diamond. "Well, get in here, you two. It's freezing out here and I ain't got no heat or AC in this bucket of bolts, so hurry it up." Ivy says impatiently.

Me and Ed hop in the car, me in the passenger seat and Ed in the backseat, and Ivy drives us all back to the mansion she lives in with me and her plants.

"Nice place..." Ed says quietly, walking around.

"If you want, I can use the perfume. It makes people tell the entire truth, y'know." Ivy says quietly.

"I don't know, Ivy... there's something different about him. He seems... broken." I say sadly, looking at Ed as he takes a seat on the couch in the living room.

"Well, it's worth a shot. Don't you wanna know what's really on his mind. I can make him tell you anything." Ivy says persistently. Dang, she's stubborn.

"Fine. You can try it..." I concede.

"Great!" She says excitedly.

"ED! I HAVE SOMETHING FOR YOU TO SMELL!!" She yells happily, running to the living room where Ed is. I follow close behind her.

"What?" Ed says quietly, annoyance and confusion clear in his tone.

"It's my perfume. I made it myself from my plants. It makes people tell the truth!"
