Alvarez opens his eyes slowly, finding himself in a dark warehouse.

Fucking hell, welp, this is what you get when you're fucking Gotham's deadliest assassin, Carlos.

"Ah, you're awake." A female voice says softly. Alvarez looks up and comes face-to-face with...

"Ivy Pepper? What the hell?" Carlos says dryly.

"Victor betrayed me. I know he cares about you, Carlos. So I'm going to make you betray him. It's not like my perfume won't work on a gay man. It worked on Victor's gay little FunkyTown ass." The redhead says darkly.

"I won't betray him. Never." Alvarez says, his resolve rock solid.

"Why must you make everything so complicated?" Ivy says.

"It's not complicated. I won't betray my boyfriend. End of discussion. Let me go."

"Why don't you just try the perfume?" Ivy says, holding her wrist to his nose. He inhales, but the perfume has no effect.

"I don't feel anything." Alvarez says, shrugging.
Ivy slaps him hard.
He laughs at her frustration.

"Damn. Must be hard not getting what you want, huh?"

"Just shut up. Why didn't it work on you?"

Before Alvarez can say anything else, shots ring out through the warehouse. Ivy's thugs are shot dead right between the eyes.
Ivy takes a bullet to the back as she runs.

"Vic?! Is that you?! I'm over here!" Alvarez yells.

Victor emerges from the shadows, guns drawn. His tense expression relaxes when he sees that Carlos is okay.

He rushes over and cuts the zip ties, freeing Alvarez. Victor wraps his arms around his boyfriend, relief coursing through him.

"How did you know something was wrong?" Alvarez asks.

"You didn't show up for dinner tonight." Vic says.

"She didn't know why her perfume didn't work." Alvarez says, walking out of there with Vic.

"Hmm. Guess knocking you up has another beneficial effect." Vic says, patting Alvarez's stomach.
