Saad's pov:

I was lost in my thoughts when I noticed Atifa clicking pictures on my phone, indicating that she was done talking to her friend.

Remembering about the ring which I still had to return to her, - the same one which I asked Amira and Alayna to bring before our nikkah for her size - I headed towards her, already checking my pockets to find it.

A smile graced my lips as my fingers found her ring. Reaching her, I cleared my throat, waiting for her to notice me, my hands still in my pocket.

Startled, she looked up and stumbled while trying to stand up, making me shake my head at her antics. Was she feeling as awkward as me?

"Uh... I have something of yours with me..." I muttered while rubbing the back of my neck.

"Which is?" She looked at me inquisitively.

"Your ring?" I mentally facepalmed at myself for sounding so uncertain.

"Which ring?" The frown on her face could be heard in her confused voice.

"Umm... The one which you handed to Amira before our nikkah?"

"Oh... But what is it doing with you? I gave it to Amira, right?"

"Yeah. But maybe I asked her to bring it from you?" Laughing nervously, I replied.

"But why?"

"Because- Uh... I wanted to buy that ring for you?" It was getting awkward and I didn't know what to do or say anymore.

"Oh!" Looking away, she started fiddling with her hands, making me feel less awkward.

"But how can you be so careless about it? I remember Amira telling me that you asked her not to lose this ring but you forgot about it yourself." Not wanting to drag this awkwardness anymore, holding her left hand, I slid the ring on her middle finger. She was wearing the ring which I gifted her on her ring finger. Despite my scolding, I couldn't help the small smile escaping my lips.

"You can't blame me for that. So many things were happening, I should've focused on that or on my ring?" Her reply brought me out of my wonderland and I left her hand, feeling awkward. God what was wrong with me?

Looking up from her hand, I got lost in her tantalising orbs, forgetting about whatever I was going to say. "Atifa?"

She hummed while looking down at her ring.

"I want to hear my name from you." Wha-? I couldn't believe my ears. No actually, I couldn't believe that I just said that. What was I thinking? God, this has got to be the most awkward day of my life!

"What?" She looked up, flabbergasted. I couldn't help but admire the way her eyes were slightly wide, revealing her raw emotions to me.

"You heard me." I smiled slightly. If I have already ignited the fire, I might as well warm my hands.

'You want to warm your hands in this hot weather? Are you alright?'

'Maybe you actually want to burn your hands, not warm them.' My own mind was mocking me, making me groan internally. Now I couldn't even be at peace with myself!

"But... I- How? I mean- why?" She stuttered, trying to blink away her shock.

"I just want to hear it from you."

"Oh..." Looking down, she started rummaging her bag for something. "Before I forget about it, I have something to give you as well."

"What?"
