Chapter Fourteen

It was Seungmin.

Chris was having a crisis.

He didn't know what to think about this new information that he just revealed.

Seungmin was Mega.

Not Minho.

Seungmin.

Chris didn't even consider Seungmin at all. He showed absolutely no signs of being a hero at all.

Well, same case with Minho.

Chris only considered Minho to be a hero when he saw the meteor and thought it through.

And that led Chris to his next thought.

Was Minho Strike?

He couldn't be. Minho couldn't be the one who ruined his life.

But he wasn't Mega.

So he had to be Strike.

Chris didn't want to believe it. Minho couldn't be Strike. He just couldn't.

But the evidence adds up.

Chris did realize that the person's voice he heard talk to Minho on that one night did sound like Seungmin's as he thought about it.

That only further confirmed his suspicions.

Chris wanted to cry. This couldn't be happening.

Minho was Strike.

But it still wasn't confirmed just yet. He hasn't yet seen with his own eyes that Minho was the one behind the mask.

But the evidence was too much.

It seemed way too likely than what Chris would've liked.

Chris watched from the lunch table, eyes glued on the entrance to the cafeteria.

He was looking for a specific person.

"Hyung? Hello?"

Chris broke out of his trance, focusing on the one other person at the table. "Uh, what, Jisung? I mean, yeah? Huh?"

Jisung stared at Chris. "You look pissed off. Who are you looking at?"

Chris chuckled nervously. "Uh, I'm not... looking at anyone."

Jisung raised an eyebrow, clearly not believing him. "You seemed to be having an intense staring contest with someone with how intense you were staring."

Chris shook his head, his eye catching two figures entering the cafeteria. "Yeah..."

Minho and Seungmin entered the cafeteria, the two talking to each other.

Seungmin looked stressed about something. Even though Chris couldn't hear what Seungmin was saying, he could tell by his body language. Minho seemed to be trying to calm Seungmin down, his own body language mirroring Seungmin's.

Chris knew what they were talking about.

The two stopped at the lunch line, their conversation visually getting more muted and subtle. Chris' eyes stayed on the pair the whole time.

Jisung's voice interrupted Chris' thoughts once again. "Are you okay, hyung? You went back to staring again."

Chris looked back at Jisung. "Uh, yeah. Everything's... fine."

That was a lie.

Everything wasn't fine.

"Hey, guys."

Chris looked up to see Minho and Seungmin sit down at their usual spots at the table.

Chris' eyes immediately went to Seungmin.

Seungmin was smiling like nothing was wrong as if he wasn't stressed out at all earlier.

Chris knew it was all an act.

Chris and Seungmin were both in the same drama class. Chris knew that Seungmin was a good actor.

Maybe that was why he never suspected that Seungmin was Mega.

Chris turned to Seungmin, anger overtaking his best judgement. "Are you okay?"

Seungmin's eyes widened slightly for about a second, an almost clearly fake smile coming onto his face. "O-of course I am, why do you ask?"

Chris shrugged, a certain edge in his tone that was almost nonexistent. "I don't know. It just seems like something is wrong. Did something happen?"

You could tell that there was panic underlying Seungmin's almost perfectly okay facade. "W-what? Nothing happened. I don't know what you're talking about."

Jisung cleared his throat. "Okay, seriously hyung, are you okay? You're acting really strange."

Minho raised an eyebrow. "Yeah. Channie, are you good?"

Chris sighed, eyes lingering on Seungmin for a bit before turning to the others. "Yes, I'm fine."

Chris wasn't fine.

A/N this chappie is really short and it's way below my desired word count but I'm tired and I still need to work out lmao. besides, i still got everything i wanted to write in this and i don't even know what else to add so like yeah
