(Jennifer)

I open my makeup bag and start digging through it, looking for my eye shadow. I decide on a tannish color and then proceed to apply eyeliner, mascara, and the final touch, light pink lip gloss. I pull my hair up into a bun leaving a few strands of my blonde hair out. I examine myself in the mirror and adjust my loose sweater making sure it covers the bump. "Jen, are you ready to go?" Nick steps inside the bathroom. "Not yet." I look at him in the mirror. I keep playing with my sweater, trying to make it look the way I want. "I'm only three months pregnant. There's no way I should be this big." I don't know much about pregnancy, but something doesn't seem right. "Then you can ask the doctor about it when we get there." He's clearly annoyed, but I don't know why. "Fine. I'm coming just let me get my purse." I move past him and grab my purse off the couch.

He holds the doctor's office door open and I walk in, eager to see what the baby looks like. I sit down in the back corner of the waiting room and Nick sits down next to me. I lay my head on his shoulder and twist my ring around my finger. When the sun shines it sparkles. "Jennifer." Someone says and I look up. It's just the nurse. I get up and walk with Nick into the room labeled three and sit down. "The doctor will be in here soon. I'm just gonna take your temperature." She says, getting out her thermometer. She checks my temperature and mumbles something like "a little high," before walking out. "Do you wanna go get ice cream after this?" Nick moves his chair closer to me. "Yeah I'd love to." He picks up my hand as the doctor walks in. "Hi, how's everything going?" She sets her clipboard down on the counter and opens one of the drawers. "Pretty good, I'm kinda nervous though." I watch her pull stuff out of the drawer. "Try to relax, it's not good for the baby to be under a lot of stress." She waits for me to pull my shirt up. "I'll try." I look at the screen next to me, waiting to see my baby for the first time. I see not one, but two tiny babies appear.

I look at Nick, completely shocked, and see my own expression mirrored on him. "I'm gonna go get the ultrasound pictures and I'll be right back." The doctor walks out and I pull my shirt down. "I Can't believe we're having twins." I smile. The doctor walks back in and hands me the pictures, I put them in my purse and we walk back out into the waiting room.

We park the car by the park and walk to the ice cream stand nearby. I get strawberry with rainbow sprinkles and Nick gets chocolate. Mine's in a plastic bowl and his is in a cone. "I'm gonna get the blanket out. Can you hold this?" I ask, once we get to the car. He nods and takes my ice cream. I get the blanket and we walk to an empty spot in the grass away from the people, but not too far to see them. I look at the kids playing and smile, before laying down on my back. "You already finished your ice cream?" I look over at my half eaten ice cream, then back at Nick. He laughs and picks up my ice cream. "Since I'm so fast I guess I have time to help you." He holds the spoon up to my mouth. I reluctantly open my mouth and swallow the ice cream. Surprisingly, I didn't choke even though I'm laying down. "Thank you for the help but I think I can feed myself." I look up at Nick. "I guess you can, but I think I'm doing a much better job at it." He says, making me laugh. "I'll accept that but only because I'm too lazy to sit up right now." I allow him to put another spoonful into my mouth. "You've got a little something right here." He leans down and licks the side of my lips and then kisses me. I kiss him back hesitantly, anyone could be watching us.

He pulls away and I look up at him. "You're so beautiful." He gently strokes my cheek with his hand. "Your cheeks are so chubby and cute." He kisses my cheeks. "Oh my god! Nick, stop you sound like my grandma." I giggle. "Oh really, would your grandma do this?" He asks, moving his hand onto my hip. "No." I laugh even more. "What's so funny?" He smiles at me. "You." I sit up. I sit between his legs and lay my head back on his shoulder. I watch the kids playing and think about how in six months I'll have two of my own. He slowly moves his hands back and forth across my waist. "There's no way we can keep this a secret much longer." I look at his hand on my waist. I'm barely showing now, but in a few months it'll be pretty obvious. "I know." There are probably paparazzi watching us as we speak just waiting for the perfect shot.

I feel his hand move down to my thigh and I shiver. "Nick there are kids here." I look up at him. "Then let's go home." He suggests, kissing my cheek again. I stand up and grab my ice cream bowl, throw it in the trash and give Nick the blanket. We walk back to the car holding hands the whole time.
