Angelica, Nectar Nest, Outer City, 1:00 pm

This is getting ridiculous. Angelica had had enough.

In the past twenty-four hours, Angelica has had countless avians flirt with her who were well over forty, wrestled with a wingless rebel, escape an attack on the Palace, spent the night in an ammunition warehouse, traded her stunning dress for second hand clothes that had probably been on a dead body and was now currently sitting in a flower filled room with a mafia boss who was discussing what to trade Angelica for.

"I have said this countless time, Lady Nectar, I am not selling any of my cadets to you," Kage said, anger seeping into his tone.

"And I have said this time and time again, sweetie, I don't take no for an answer," Lady Nectar peered over the rim of her silver goblet.

Angelica tried not to roll her eyes, she was disgusted with the current conversation topic. She hoped that if she ate more fruit she won't snap at the person that was granting them safety.

Kage had already described their escape from the Palace to Lady Nectar, he then explain how he managed to find her current nesting place. From there, he managed to send a message to her about the crown and offered a bargain. Angelica was surprised at how quickly Kage worked, and how he knew about an Outer City Mafia Boss.

The pollen from the room was making Angelicas eyes water, the others were constantly wiping at their eyes and sniffing. They all looked very out of place in the flowering room. Lyn, Nathan, the twins and Kage's dark coloured wings didn't suit the greens and vibrant colours of the room. Not only that, but they weren't exactly dressed for the occasion either.

Angelica looked around the table at her Squad mates. Lyn had her usual livid expression as she stabbed a piece of fruit, Nathan was staring off into the horizon, Jackson looked bored, Eva was close to deep sleep as she propped her head on her hand and Jasper was extremely focused on the pyramid of fruit that was in front of him.

Angelica couldn't help but smirk every time she looked at Kai. Lady Nectar still had a hold of his face, her bejewelled hand clutching his jaw. His deep blue eyes flicked wildly around the room, his chest rising and falling rapidly. His once smooth black hair was in disarray around his head which emphasised his panicked energy.

"We will be leaving soon anyway, you have the Prince and the Crown, you don't need anything else," Kage said, the warning in his tone made Angelica shiver.

"You won't be leaving until I get what I want," Lady Nectar leaned forward. "Let me remind what I currently have. I have the Prince and a useless silver crown devoid of all its jewels. Now how is that a fair bargain for safety and food?"

Kage swallowed. "I have given you what I can. I do not want to put any of my cadets in danger."

"Oh sweetie, you were in danger the second you enrolled in the army, that's just how the world works," Lady Nectar said, settling herself back in her chair. She turned Kai's face and inspected him. "Oh my, you have a scar? Now how did that happen?"

"Long story," Kai muttered, his voice shaking.

"I'll keep you safe, sweet wings," Lade Nectar smiled.

Kage locked eyes with Angelica and twitched his right wing five times then nodded his head toward the far wall. Angelica strained her eyes and could just make out a window pane. Five minutes, then make a break for it. Easier said than done sir.

Angelica scanned the others' faces to make sure they got the message, each nodded in response. Lyn made a show of sighing and throwing down her knife.
