Jasper, Outer City, Sector 7-J, 2:32am

"What are you gonna do, stab me?" Jasper regretted saying it seconds later, but the adrenaline high kept him buzzing with energy.

"Stop moving, god damn it!" His opponent lunged as Jasper side stepped him, hooked his foot under and flipped him over.

Jasper laughed, glee and adrenaline flooded his system, his senses going into overdrive, "I mean come on man! You gotta be better than that!"

"You don't shut up do you?" The opponent picked himself up and turned, glaring daggers at Jasper.

"Nah," Jasper kicked him in the chest and took off, his small wings gave him an advantage in the narrow alleyways of the Outer City. He didn't bother to turn and see if his opponent was making chase, he dived and turned and swooped, laughing as he gained speed.

He rounded a corner and slammed into his opponent, sending them both tumbling to the ground. Jasper landed on his left wing, hissing as the pain flared up his limbs.

His rival got to his feet in seconds, jumping on Jasper with a knife to his throat, "You are going to regret pissing me off."

"Bold of you to assume I have the brain capacity to regret my actions," He smiled as he smacked his hand to the side of his rivals face and slipped the dagger out of his grip.

His opponents face was masked, but Jasper could feel his confusion as he fumbled for his knife. His soft blue wings looked dark grey in the shadows of the alley.

With a savage kick to the torso knocking the attacker down, Jasper stood up again, dizziness almost drowning him. He held the knife up to his rival, "Listen here, chicken leg, this is all playful banter to me, so if you take it personally that's your own fault for being so uptight. Now I, surprisingly, have somewhere important to be, so I bid you adieu, until the next time you try to test me."

Jasper flicked the knife dangerously close to his rivals left cheekbone, spitting dark blood across the silver blade. He spread his wings, smiled deviously and leaped into the midnight air.

The Outer City of Avinetta was in a deep sleep, the faint glow of street lamps and neon signs mimicking the starry sky. The cool wind cut through Jaspers thin clothing, turning the skin on his cheeks icy. There were little clouds in the sky, the constellations created their own landscape of white dots. The small towers of the Outer City met the wall bordering the Inner City of Avinetta.

Jasper glided along the wall, just under the sentries posts. He counted the posts then darted over with practiced speed. He dived right to the bottom of the wall. The Inner City was on a dais so it was set higher than the Outer City. At the centre of the Inner City was Palace Cubitum, it was set on an even higher dais. The heart of Avinetta. The glow of the towers meant that the rich people were still partying on into the night and not planning on sleeping soon.

Jasper flew on pure instinct, weaving his way around the bottom of the towers and trees effortlessly. He took the long way around the business district and went around the army base. Base Nidus.

He flew lower to the ground, dodging the search lights of the facility. He landed silently right under his quarters section, waiting for the search lights to pass. He pulled at the air vent above his head and crawled in, closing the metal grate behind him.

If he wasn't so small, it would have been extremely difficult. He folded his small wings and pushed with his elbows. Two lefts, a right, left again, up for three levels, left again, right twice and he was right above his room.
