"Emelia!" Olive called out. "Bloody hell, you've been in the library for hours on end."

Emelia just sat there.

"I realize," she responded. Olive walked up and caressed her arm lightly.

"Are you okay, Emelia?" Olive asked.

Emelia stood up abruptly and put her book away.

"Yes, I am. Would you like to go to dinner now?"

Olive smiled. "Of course. Now let's get out of here before that troubled boy, Riddle, comes in. He's always reading books on dark magic...isn't it odd?"

Emelia gave a meek smile and walked out to the main dining hall with Olive.

They reached the vast dining hall. "Oi! Olive! Over here!" George and Fred called out. George and Fred, the troublemaking twins. Always up to no good.

"I'm sorry, Emelia, I've got to go. But jus-" Olive got pulled away before she could finish. Classic.

Emelia didn't have much of an appetite. She grabbed her satchel and left. Maybe she'd go to the Gryffindor common room. Walking aimlessly, she stopped. She felt as if she were being stalked upon.

"Hello?" she called out. Emelia turned around and found Tom Riddle coming out of the library. He'd skipped dinner, as well.

"Hello." he replied briskly and walked away.

'Odd' she thought.

Her mind was a bit empty, but she continued to walk. Her walk led her to the Prefects' bathroom.

"Bloody hell. If i get caught in here by Percy I'm dead, aren't I?" she said out loud.

Last winter break Emelia had gotten fascinated with "cigarettes". She found them in a muggle petrol station, but never tried them until over the summer. "Incendio," she said to light it. In the process of lighting her cigarette she hears footsteps.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck," Emelia whispered while trying to put it out. The smoke was still easily detected.

"Emelia...could you please explain to me why I smell smoke coming from the stall, in a bathroom which you aren't supposed to be in?" Tom Riddle says. Emelia takes some time to calm her breath and opens the stall door.

"How'd you know it was me?" she asked.

"I'm deducting 5 points from Gryffindor. I advise you to go back to your common room before curfew."

He avoids the question. She puts her robes back on over her slightly small skirt and hoodie.

"I'd also advise you to wear something more...appropriate." he suggested, pointing at Emelia's skirt. Emelia pulled her skirt down a bit before leaving the bathroom, silently, and going back to the common room.

As she walked back she thought to herself
'Riddle...he followed me, didn't he? No, I wouldn't look too far into it. He's simple doing his Prefect duties.'

Emelia makes it back to the common room. "Periferous," she says to get inside. As she walks in she sees Harry and Ginny kissing.

"Aren't you Rons' friend? And you're his little sister?" she asks, interrupting their intimate moment.

"Blimey, Emelia! I'm sorry if we were in your way, but please don't tell Ron. I'm begging you." Harry said.

Ginny felt ashamed by the way she was looking down at her beat up shoes. Emelia simply nodded and walked away. As she went near the fireplace she saw George.

"Oi, Emelia! Care to try some of our newest inventions? These are called 'Pretty Pastilles'. Whenever you don't want to get ready, it does your makeup and hair for you!"

Emelia contemplated whether or not it'd be worth it. She hadn't talked much to the twins, but occasionally she'd smoke muggle herb with them and Olive. She sighed and said "hand it over". He smiled and looked as if he'd won 100 galleons. "Here you go, Em! Also, let me know if you'd like the...muggle herb tonight. It's on me, no need to share.", George said in a hushed tone. Emelia nodded and smiled a bit. He handed her it and slipped the Pretty Pastilles to her too.

"Olive, I don't feel like going to my classes today.", Emelia said. "But you must! It's vital for you to pass your OWL's, now get up!", she exclaimed. Emelia decided to close her eyes for just a bit more. By the time they opened she saw the clock.

"Merlins beard, I've missed half of my potions class!". This seemed like a solid routine by now. She'd doze off and wake up late, for the past school year. The amount of detentions Snape had given her were unbelievable. Emelia looked at the Pretty Pastilles George had given her and decided to eat one before leaving her dormitory.

Halfway to potions she felt a bit odd. Her stomach was churning and her head hurt. She found herself at the prefects bathroom, yet again. Opening the nearest stall she threw up. This happened a few times until she regained her balance. Her head still pounded, but it didn't matter. This was the 12th time she'd missed her class these past 2 months. "I'll kill George" she muttered.

"Miss Adams, will you please explain why you're in the prefects bathroom...again?", Riddle said. He seemed to appear out of nowhere. Maybe even as if he'd been there the whole time. "Stomach issues, throwing up, etcetera." Emelia said, looking at the wall next to Tom. "Do not trash this bathroom and do not look away while you speak to me. It's rude." he retorted. "My apologies", she barely made out.

"Also, you're dressed provocatively again. 10 points from Gryffindor." Emelia bit her lip, irritatingly. "Riddle, I don't know what you mean by 'provocatively'. I'm wearing a robe and my outfit is barely visible to you." she said.

"You mean your outfit it barely there...tsk tsk tsk. A bit of a...whore, if you ask me. Revealing your mid-riff, small ripped shorts, and a poorly cut up tank top is quite provocative to me."

"Could you shut up for 2 seconds?" she said quietly, hoping he couldn't hear. Alas, he did. After all he is the perfect Mister Riddle who has no issues and is favored by every teacher. He glared at her for a slight second and then smiled. The smile seemed bitter.

"You should try to smoke less. The smell of cigars on you is quite repulsive.", he replied and walked away. Her mouth hung open, but she quickly shut it and gathered her things.
