'Where is he?' Emelia thought as she sat in Potions. Tom hadn't showed up and he was usually always there.
"Miss Adams, do you know why Tom isn't here today?" Slughorn asked.
"I don't know, Professor."
Slughorn seemed worried. He was playing with his fingers and looking down at them. Quite fidgety compared to the normal delightful aroma he carried.
"I see. Please tell him to visit me the second you see him."
She nodded and started doing her work. Emelia looked over at Harry and Ginny working on their potions. Her heart melted, a bit, at the sight of them. They seemed happy. Hopefully that'd remain the same after he tells Ron.
"Ginny? I was just wondering where Fred was, would you know?" she asked Ginny.
"No, I'm sorry. I believe he's sick, but you can check in the common rooms." she said.
Emelia nodded and looked back at her bubbling black potion. She got 3 hours of sleep and could barely get out of bed this morning.
When class ended Emelia walked to Fred and George's dorm. She knocked on the door where George opened it and put a quiet sign up to his mouth.
"He's sleeping, but come in. Would you like to try any of our new gadgets?" he asked.
She shook her head no and asked him, "Is it true you're throwing a party?"
George stared at her and nodded.
"Who told you?"
"Just some chit chat in the halls and what not. I'm just curious as to why I wasn't invited."
Emelia realized what she'd said and shook her head.
"I apologize, that sounded demanding. You don't have to answer."
"I want to, but...alright. I'll tell you on one condition: you don't tell Olive. She didn't want you there." he said.
Emelia raised an eyebrow. She knew Olive was jealous, but she didn't know the what caused her sudden jealousy.
"I see. Why is that?"
"Something about you hanging out with Riddle and Malfoy and 'flirting' with Fred. Personally, I don't think you flirted with Fred and I don't care much for who you hang out with, but why Malfoy? He's a git."
"Malfoy and I talk occasionally, what's your problem with him?"
"He insulted my mother."
"Oh."
George nodded and pursed his lips.
"Let me tell you what, you can come. It is Fred and I's party, after all. Olive is just clingy."
Emelia nodded and smiled. She looked at Fred sleeping.
"Tell him I hope he gets better when he's up. Goodbye."
"Hold on, hold one. Cant just storm in and out, where's my hug?" George said and chuckled.
She begrudgingly gave him a hug and left their dormitory. As she left she accidentally bumped into Olive. Olive gasped.
"What were you doing in Fred's room?" she demanded.
"I was just checking up on him and talking to George, why?"
She stared at her with anger in her eyes and then barged her way into the room.
"Where's my Fred?" she yelled.
"Merlins beard! He's sleeping, would you keep your voice down?" said George.
Emelia turned back around and left.
'I'm starving' she thought.
She walked to the great dining hall as it was already 6 P.M.
'Bloody time changes.'
Emelia took a seat next to Luna.
"Hello, Emelia. How've you been?" Luna asked.
"I'm fine. Thank you, Luna."
Luna looked bewildered and muttered something about nargles and wrackspurts.
George came to the dining hall and sat on the empty chair on the left side of Emelia.
"Olive wasn't too happy, was she?" he said.
Emelia didn't say anything. Her mind was leaving reality a bit, nowadays. She just focused on her stew which was steaming. She took her spoon and stirred it around, a bit. Emelia looked over at George's bowl which was already completed.
"Would you like some of mine?" she asked.
"Are you sure? Alright, thank you." George replied.
She looked up at him.
"When's the party?"
"It's this Friday, when break starts. 8 P.M. It's my parents anniversary so the Burrow will be empty."
"Burrow?" she asked.
"The name of our home, isn't it silly? I hope you can make it."
Emelia was fascinated. The Weasley family seemed so nice and welcoming. In all truthfulness, Emelia didn't know why she was placed in Gryffindor, let alone a Hogwarts house. She didn't fit with any of the houses characteristics.
Smart, but undetermined. Quiet and not at all soft spoken. Not brave. Not petty enough to be in Slytherin. It was fine, she was fine.
Her vision went black and she fainted.
"Emelia...Emelia!" said George while shaking her. She straightened her posture and shook her head.
"You fainted and muttered something like 'George is the hottest bloke in this school with this biggest di-'"
Emelia yelped.
"No! No! No!"
He chuckled and looked at who was staring at her. His smile went away and he furrowed his eyebrows together.
"Are you and Riddle dating?" he asked.
"No, why?"
"He seems to be glaring into your soul, if your soul was at the back of your head."
She turned around and looked at him. His fists were clenched and he turned around, grabbed some mint water, and left.
Emelia laughed. He seemed so mad it brought her some joy.
"He's silly." she said to George.
George smiled and finished up his stew.
'She's really pretty.' George thought.
Emelia was drinking something from a flask and wincing every time she swallowed it. George grabbed the flask from her.
"George!"
He took a swig. His throat burned and he nearly spit it out, but instead he gulped. George made a face. The liquid didn't sit right in his stomach.
"What is this?" he asked.
"Nothing." she said snatching the flask up and walking out of the dining hall.
'And there's her prissy mysterious facade' he thought.
