Friday had arrived and Emelia tried to catch up homework-wise in her spare time. She didn't have anyone to hang out with and Tom was still avoiding her. Occasionally she'd talk to George and Luna, but nothing more than that.
"So are you coming?" George says appearing from his dorm.
"I dunno," Emelia says.
George looks at her and goes back. She gets up and decides to go pack her things. After all, she wasn't going to spend her holidays in the dreadful castle. Maybe she'd go to a hotel over break, in the muggle world, and celebrate her winter holidays there. After all, her parents did think she was staying at school for break.
As she packs her things she listens to one of her favorite muggle artists, Mother Mother.
She bent down to pick up her shirt and Olive walks in a minute later with Fred and whispers into his ear.
"Look, she's listening to her odd muggle music...good thing she isn't coming to the party tonight with her god awful clothes."
Emelia didn't do anything. She was enraged, but she kept her cool. She kept packing as Olive snickered.
'I hope her rage embarrasses her.'
"Olive, that's not very nice. I find her clothes quite wicked.", Fred said, defending Emelia.
Olive huffed and walked away.
Emelia grinned even if they couldn't see her face.
'He's defending my honor.' she thought.
She finished, grabbed her luggage, left the dormitory and checked the time. It was nearly 6 AM, almost time to board the train. Emelia walked around the castle a bit and saw Tom. She turned the other way and tried to avoid him.
Too late.
"You. Emelia." he called out.
She stopped in her tracks and turned around.
"Stay with me. Over the holidays." he said.
"Riddle, you've been avoiding me for days. No." she said.
He clenched his jaw and gulped his pride down his throat.
"Alright. I hope you have fun." he bitterly spat before walking away.
She felt a bit bad, but she wasn't going to spend the time with a guy who barely talked to her out of envy.
She grabbed her luggage and walked to the train. It was time to spend her holidays in a lonesome hotel by herself. She didn't know who to sit with as she approached the Hogwarts Express.
"Luna, d'you think I could sit with you?" she asked.
"Of course. Just watch out for the wrackspurts. They always crowd you.", Luna replied in her soft voice. "Also, Ginny and Neville will be joining us, if that isn't a problem."
Emelia shook her head.
"Not at all."
They started boarding the train and she got into her compartment. She looked out of the window as the snow started flurrying. Emelia looked at Tom who was muttering to himself. He was glaring at the train. Guilt filled her as she regretted not accepting his offer. The train started moving and they left Hogwarts.
She started drifting to sleep until Ginny slammed the sliding door shut and abruptly took a seat.
"Oi' what's on your mind? Seem a bit mad.", Neville asked.
"It's the bloody fucking prat, Olive, who's dating my brother. I'm sorry, she's your friend. Isn't she?", she said to Emelia.
"We don't talk as much. I agree with you, though." Emelia replied quietly.
"I swear every second she's with him. I needed to speak to Fred, in private, and she was just clinging onto his arm. Wouldn't mind if she got jinxed.", she said.
Emelia chuckled.
"And then she took the last seat in the compartment I was going to share with Fred, Ron, and George." she fumed.
Emelia smiled at the thought of Ginny hating Olive. It was quite nice.
"She cut me off because she assumed I was trying to steal Fred from her." she said quietly.
"No...I literally can't. She's bloody insane, isn't she? I wouldn't mind if you 'stole' Fred from her at this point. She's maniacal. You should come to the party we're throwing tonight."
Emeli shrugged and looked outside the window. The scenery was breathtaking. She adjusted her seat and leaned back. Her mind was getting drowsy and she went to sleep.
