☆Callie's POV☆
I know when I feel the sky open up that the aliens are here. The splitting feeling in my stomach startles me and it hurts. Once I shake the feeling off, I get up off the bench and stand looking out a window at Iron Man ascending skyward, taking down as many alien crafts that he can. They look like mini hovercrafts.
I can't make out any of the details of the aliens as they flow out of the portal, not slowing down as they spread over the city like a dark cloud. All the traffic has stopped below as the aliens begin firing on the people. I get nervous and anxious as we grow closer to the tower.
A figure on top of Stark Tower is standing above all the chaos, a glowing scepter in his hand.
Loki, I think. I'm about to tell Nat to open fire, but a red cloak shoots up, landing on the balcony. It's Thor!
I smile as we grow closer and I see the two brothers lock into a fight. Loki shoots a beam of energy, but it misses, ricocheting off of Thor's hammer, blowing the K off the tower. What used to read STARK is now STAR. Tony will not be happy.
I can hear the chaos down below as I hear Natasha connect to Tony.
"Stark we're on your three headed Northeast," Natasha says.
"What did you stop for drive-through?" Tony's voice comes through my earpiece. "Swing up Park I'll lay them out for you."
The jet accelerates as we continue to head towards the location. I see the ships zoom in front of us, and Nat begins peppering them with bullets. We penetrate the smoke, making a sharp turn, snaking up Stark Tower.
We continue taking down any hovercraft that got in our way, making our way to the top of the tower, where Loki and Thor are fighting. All I want to do was get off this stupid jet and begin protecting people.
"Nat," Clint warns, steadying the jet near the two brothers.
"I see him," she prepares the guns. Loki faces us as Nat begins to rain bullets down on the god, Thor ducking out of the way. Loki holds out his scepter and I feel the energy build up inside of it.
"Watch out!" I warn them, rushing in between the two seats. I can't get my words out fast enough, though, and Loki gets a bullseye on our engine, flinging me into the side of the jet.
The view of the city down below disappears in smoke, and I just see Thor lunge at Loki before we plunge. Steve grabs onto the ceiling bars as we swirl downward, Nat and Clint frantically fumbling at the controls to try and give us a soft landing.
Somehow, we crash land in a plaza, hitting several buildings along the way. The pavement gives way in front of us as the nose of the jet digs into the tar, slowing our crash. Thank goodness there is no one around the spot to get hurt.
I check for my lightsaber as Nat and Clint unbuckle and open the back hatch for us to leap out. My hilt is thankfully still there, and I take it in my hand firmly as Steve jumps off the bars and reclaims his shield.
We exit the jet, and my ears are bombarded with the sounds of people screaming and sirens going off. New York is a mess. Debris is everywhere, with taxis and cars strewn randomly on the streets. Hovercrafts from the portal zooms above us. I glance upward as the four of us run, surveying where Stark Tower is.
"We've got to get back up there!" Steve yells over the noise as we weave through the maze of cars.
As we approach a building, a long, metallic groan echos deeply through the city. We all stop in our tracks, glancing up at the portal to see a huge, metal/reptilian monster emerge from the hole. A shiver runs down my back as I hear it roar, descending from the sky. It has to be at least the size of a humpback whale, and it moves like one too, charging into buildings. It moves incredibly fast for its size.
"What even," I mutter in disbelief.
It comes down right in front of us, releasing more Chitauri aliens down out of its hull. We are in such shock, we don't even move.
"Stark, are you seeing this?" Steve asks into his earpiece.
"Seeing...still, working on believing," Tony speaks through the earpiece. I snort. "Where's Banner, has he shown up yet?"
"Banner?"
"Just keep me posted," Tony ends.
We then realize the Chitauri are closing in on us, and an excited shiver runs down my spine as I activate my lightsaber. I immediatly feel connected with it, and we attack.
Steve throws his shield frisbee-style, taking out quite a few of the aliens, while Nat and Clint begin shooting them down. My lightsaber swings back and forth as I keep my sense alert for any incoming aliens behind me or if they are shooting at me. I notice all of the citizens running, screaming, and looking very confused. I know something has to be done about them.
"Cap!" I yell over the chaos. He finishes taking down a Chitauri before turning to me.
"You alright?" He asks, approaching me. I nod. A few cuts and bruises, nothing I can't handle. This is only the beginning.
"All these people need to be evacuated. I'm going to go find the police," and with that, I begin running towards the sounds of sirens.
I jump over cars, flipping and executing moves every time an alien gets in the way. I finally see the dusty white police cars, and I land solidly on the top of one, deactivating my lightsaber. I don't want to come across as dangerous to the two officers who stand in front of me. They look up when I land.
"I need men in these buildings," I wheeze, out of breath from my sprint down. I point at the buildings behind me. "There are people inside who could be running right into the line of fire. You take them to the basements, the subways; keep them off the streets," I order, looking at the officers. Their sweaty faces look confused and amused at the same time, scanning me. "I need a perimeter as far back as 39th," I point down the street. One of the officers scoff.
"Why the hell should we take orders from you?" He challenges.
How stupid I am! They aren't going to listen to a 13 year old...so how to tell them I need them to listen...but I'm so desperate...
I get my answer as two Chitauri land next to me, denting the car roof and attacking me. I let my natural Force reflexes take over, reactivating my lightsaber and deflecting the two electric blasts they try to shoot me with before slicing each one clean in half. One of them grabs my arm, leaving a deep cut, but I just slice him and push the half of him off of me. The officers eyes widen in shock, and he immediatly begins repeating my orders into his walkie talkie.
I smirk, just standing there, catching my breath. I check my arm, which has been ripped open through the clothing. It isn't as bad as it feels, thank goodness.
With a deep breath, I think, For Phil, and I launch myself powerfully off the car, landing on the pavement and cracking it slightly as I sprint back to where Steve, Clint, and Nat are defending New York.
