☆Callie's POV☆
~1 Month Later, Stark/Avengers Tower~
"I now pronounce you husband and wife," the priest announces, stepping back slightly and closing the Bible. "You may now kiss the bride."
Heck, Tony and Pepper don't need to be told that twice. The small lot of us clap and cheer as the new couple pulls apart, looking happy. I'm so happy Tony lived through the portal incident, or we would most definetly not be here right now.
There aren't many people that appeared at the wedding since Tony and Pepper had wanted to keep it a secret- no press, interviewers, nothing. Being part of the Avengers, he, like the rest of us, is trying to lay low, but he's such an attention hog that he fails miserably. It's hard enough trying to get him to have this small wedding between just the Avengers and a few special guests.
We all rise and follow them down the small aisle and into a simply decorated room to celebrate. Pepper looks absolutly stunning in her wedding dress. It is a pretty strapless gown that has intricate red accents at her waist. Her hair is up in a beautiful bun, and to top it all off, she wears the biggest smile.
Nat and I are her bridesmaids, and we wear matching deep red chiffon dresses that end at our knees. I wear small golden heels while Nat has bigger ones. My long chestnut hair is pulled back in two braids, and I have little golden flower clips to accent it. Nat's hair doesn't need any accents since its fiery red color blended well with the dress. I love the colors Pepper picked for her wedding. It's the colors of Tony's Iron Man suit.
Steve, Bruce, who is the the best man, and Clint were Tony's choices, and they all had matching suits, and, to Steve's dismay, they wear Iron Man comic book ties.
"This is what Stark expects me to wear?" Steve had asked earlier that day, totally unimpressed, but nevertheless, he wore it.
Fury is there too, but he just is in his normal trench coat and attire. He asked us all to bring our suits that we fought in at New York. He says that in order to try and keep the public off our scent, he will give the Smithsonian our suits as a gift. Thor will have a replica made, since he wears his armor everyday. My suit still has all the bloodstains, rips, and dirt on it from the invasion. Steve's doesn't look any different. All I can look at are the three long rips on the back of my shirt that replicates my now fully healed, yet scarred, back.
When we enter the banquet hall, I see Thor waiting for us with a woman who I don't know, but she's dressed identical to Nat and I, so she must be a bridesmaid. Thor is, for once, out of his armor and he wears a suit like the rest of the men. It's weird seeing him dressed like us.
"My good friends!" He bellows, striding over to us and greeting everyone. "I'd like to introduce Jane Foster," he finally holds out his hand for Jane, and she walks up, tucking her pretty brown hair behind her ear.
"Hi, I'm Callie," I greet her, shaking her hand gently.
"Nice to finally meet you," she exclaims, pulling me into a hug. "You guys are all over the news."
She's right. For the past month that Steve and I have been settling down, almost every news channel we have sat down to watch had footage from New York playing. The aliens, all of us fighting, and people paying respects to fallen loved ones. It's always sad to watch, but the funny part was the people getting interviewed. They are all apparently huge fans.
Despite our plan to try and stay undercover, we are world wide celebraties. People want to meet us, get to know us, and interview us. I am sometimes recognized on the streets with Steve. I need to keep my identity a secret, especially when I begin school in the next two days.
